Tip #1: Whenin doubt, Slow Down!
OK so I am on my second week, and I seem to have hit a wall!
Every thing That WA is telling me to do seems MORE ADVANCED than I am ready for. For example, marketing with Amazon. I don't yet know how to give them my tax information, so I am not ready to make money with them yet.
In fact, I may be far too anxious about my first conversion. What I need to remember is that all the training and the whole process of site building only happens ONE CLICK AT A TIME!

You can work at your own pace here, Francis! Do things when you feel ready. In the meantime, when your website is built start adding content to it relevant to the niche that you have slected, my friend!

The most important thing when starting out Francis, is to add as much quality informational content to your site as possible!
I wouldn't worry too much about monetizing things at this stage...
Most affiliate programs will want to see some steady traffic to your site before you will be accepted anyway!
I wish you all the very best for the future my friend!
