2021. The great leap-into what?
Every year, there is always the idea that the outgoing year was not good enough and the incoming one promises to be more rewarding. In my Nigerian village, there is always a ritual of "chasing away the year". People bring out all their last year cooked food ( I often wondered why not the raw ones) and throw them to the bin. They do not want to start a new year with leftover food. By midnight evryone will be out, shouting: "Let the year go empty handed", and then they chase away the year with much fanfare. (I often wondered as a child where all the old years were sento to. Dear reader, if you know, please oblige me.)
Here at WA, the coming year is meant to build on the progress of the past years. That is what I wish everyone.

I agree Uche, raise a glass to surviving the past year and light that hope for the New Year as we move into a better future.
