What Do BBQ and Flowers Have in Common?

Last summer my husband and I started a bbq business, Tandem 23 BBQ. Although it was a slow start, we spent the summer doing small "gigs" with a local brewery and have gotten our name out there. In a few weeks we will cater a school auction. It's happening! Slowly but surely! I spent some time creating a website here on Wealthy Affiliate, and although I haven't yet done anything with the affiliate side of it (yet), it has been good practice for me setting up a website.

Flowers...when we got married, I noticed my husband had amazing grilling skills and passion for all things bbq. So I helped him make his dream become a reality. However, as much as I love to support him and have even grown to love it, I have a passion myself....flowers. It started when my daughter was in high school and her boyfriend really didn't have enough money to buy her flowers for prom. Mom, with the help of a few youtube videos, came to the rescue. That was the first flower bouquet I created. I realized that day, that flowers were my therapy and I LOVED making flower bouquets. Making that first flower bouquet ignited a passion.

So, my question remains...what do bbq and flowers have in common? Still trying to figure out how I can tie my flower arranging passion into our bbq business, and I would welcome any ideas!

Hmm. I love mental challenges.

Even though I am in Colorado now, I'm from Texas. We love bbq. We love bluebonnets. We love our state. If I was going to help someone plan a super nice BBQ - I would have mason jars of flowers for each table.... Maybe you could offer flower arrangements if you were to cater weddings, holiday get together, fundraising events.... You would already be delivering food. Why not flowers at the same time?

My favorite store in Colorado is Rudy's a Texas style BBQ place. It has a convenience store. A big Texas themed BBQ restaurant.

So, how about some sort of farmers market type of BBQ stand that also has flower arrangements in the next stall? Again, I'm currently stuck with Texas style/rustic/farmhouse flowers.

I guess it could apply to other states also. I realize that Texas is not the only state that has their own style of BBQ. I'm just not in a position to talk about it intelligently.

Best wishes!

We LOVE Texas BBQ, although we've never actually been there! It's my husband's dream! I always love the farmhouse/barn weddings - we are IN, they are really big here in the summertime.

Thanks for the ideas!

You are welcome. Hopefully you will come up with something amazing!
