As a new member, it was quite a bit of an adventure looking for tutorials that will guide you in the use of WordPress. I have been using WordPress for several years already before I joined Wealthy Affiliate. But it was a "hit-and-miss" kind of self-exploration. Back then I didn't know how to use my search engine to find what I needed.
You are reading this tutorial for one of two reasons:
First, if you are already well-versed with WordPress, you are here because you want to see what's in this tutorial. Well, your comments and feedbacks are most welcome.
Second, if you are a newbie at Wealthy Affiliate and new in WordPress, then you need some kind of help to make building your website easier and an enjoyable one. You may go on learning from what I have put together.
It takes very little effort to build your website as you practice along with me. WordPress has become easier and easier to use. I like WordPress very much because it is easy and simple with its drag and drop features aside from the fact that it is absolutely free!
This is a compilation of what I learned when I created my website - a quick start guide for you to make your website run nicely. So, let's take a look at the dashboard! Here's how it looks on your screen.
Basically, these are the most-used part in building your website:
1. Your website name brings you back and forth from the dashboard to a view of your website. Click it and see what happens each time you click.
2. The lefthand sidebar shows you all the things you can do to your website. I call it my "To Do List." Click each one and explore what you can see. Familiarize yourself with them as you will be using these very often. Try to click each one and find out where it brings you and what it can do to your website.
Happy exploration and see you on the next page!
