Nail Down a Niche

I think this is the first question that most new bloggers ask themselves when they decide to build a website business. That’s understandable, as a lot of people would like to make money online but don’t really feel that they have anything to say. But you do! Trust me.

Imagine for a moment that you are a hard-working person (of course, you are) it doesn’t really matter what age, sex, or education you have. No one will know anything about you except what you choose to tell them. The only thing that your readers want to know is can you answer their questions on a particular subject?

Now, this may mean that you have to do some research to find the answer for them and present it in an article on your website. But that’s not a problem you have the whole world to use as a library. You can read other articles answering that question and collate it in your own words into your article, that’s ok! Add a chart, images, and tutorials if you want.

Let’s say that you are a stay-at-home mum wanting to earn a few extra dollars. Ask yourself, ‘What do I know about that could help other mums?’ Could you advise on baby things, strollers, nappies, clothes, maternity? (Amazon products). ‘What did you do before you became a mum?’ Were you a great administrator? (Could you sell your skills as an assistant online?)

Are you a passionate motorbike rider or golfer (sell parts and golf gear), or a fitness lover (how about nutrition and exercises?) You may just love the financial world (what about Cryptocurrency?)

I think you are getting the idea by now.

This was quite helpful! I have a niche. It’s the desire to be cleaver and savvy so as to attract thousand of followers immediately !
In other words, there are so many ideas running through my brain, I can’t seem to quiet them down and be ok about just getting started. Geez!

I know the feeling Annie. Grab the niche that you have lots to say about. Lol.

I was the same way and in the end may have made the wrong choice. It doesn't matter, I can make it work for me. It just takes more research than something I knew about.

Very nice, Lily. Thank you, as I sometimes have that nagging feeling like I'm really interested in something else.
But while watching Jay, I think he "follows" the money.

That would be a good thing for more of us to learn how to do, right? Yes, and certainly you could like it for what it brings if you go all in, do your best and make that even better.
Your friend, and student,

Hi Suzay, I know what you mean. Do you choose a niche because you are interested in it even if you won't be able to monetize your posts?

I think we have to ask ourselves why we are creating a website, once we know that then this question is easier to answer.

Lovely to see you here my friend.

I've been thinking about becoming a writer for many years but I never got past the questions of "what would I write about? " and all the negative thoughts about " What do I know and who would listen to me anyways?" But since I became interested in Affiliate Marketing I learned ways to find that Niche and now that I have found it I have something to write about. Now it's just getting rid of the negative thoughts in my head and making it happen. The more I have learned from my studies the less negative thoughts in my head. Thank you for showing me this blog because now I know for sure I'm heading in the right direction.

That is great to hear Stacy. I had similar doubts when I started. Remember the knowledge you have someone will want to know.

You can do this Sarah. One step at a time. It's not a race and everything you need to build a business is in the lessons.
If you do start in the wrong niche for you, there is always the option to start another later when you understand more.

Lily you do Great work and I admire yiour Posts & Shares, but I sumwhat disagree with this one.

I Believe that the biggest Answer of All is PATIENCE!!! Which is probably very few Person's strong suit. Until you learn the process and how to use it, most people will not understand what has to be done to Publish 500 papers on one Subject/Niche. Theoretically there are other ways around that, that will suffice. Think of it this way, what if you were to write a letter to a friend 500 days in a row. Even with multitude of topics available it would be very difficult to keep thier attention. I've got to believe that PATIENCE & RESEACH after you understand the process will help you pick the most valuable Niche for every person. That is my take at this point.

It's great to hear your opinion Ed and I somewhat agree. My patience has been sorely tried on my journey and I do think it is one of the main factors why people give up. We all want it yesterday as that is the way this new world works. But we can't force it in a business.

I actually like doing research and that is a cornerstone of writing interesting posts, 500 of them!
Finding a niche that we like helps but isn't imperative.

Warm Regards,
Lily
