I always recommend having a separate browser when doing SEO work.
The reason being is that when you have so many extensions running, analyzing data it can ruin your browsing experience when you are just searching like any other "normal" person.
The average person does not care about site metrics when surfing!
So you have a couple options moving forwards:
Option 1 Use a Separate Browser (My preferred Method)
I like to keep my normal browsing and SEO work separate. The main reason is that Google delivers content based on your browsing habits.
If you want accurate results, you can't let your own habits dictate what shows on the Search Engine Results Page (SERP's).
My browser of choice for SEO is Firefox.
Installation is easy. Just go to the Installation is easy. Just go to the Installation is easy, just click on the "firefox" link and install it to your computer.
I do all of my SEO work on this browser and I use Google Chrome for normal browsing
I recommend clearing your browser history each time you finish your analysis so you can keep the results accurate and avoid altering your results.
Option 2 Google Chrome Profiles
If you dont want to install a separate browser you can use Google Chrome Profiles.
Each profile can have its own GMail account if you want but it's not necessary.
The browsing history, extensions, bookmarks, themes and settings are unique to each profile.
So, when you are in "SEO MODE" you can simply switch profile and get busy.
To create your new profile open Chrome and go to the top right of your screen near the X
From there you will go to the next screen and you need to select "add person"
Next you can select an avatar and a name of the profile and click save and you are done.
As with my previous recommendation, I do suggest cleaning your browser history for this profile once your analysis is complete.
Why Don't we Just use an Incognito Window?
You can't have extensions attached to an incognito window and the point behind this post is about the extensions :)
Using incognito is fine if you are just doing a quick check without the need for extensions but if you want more in-depth analysis, the methods mentioned before work best.
If you have any other options to share please let me know and i'll add them here

Anyway, I'm glad I read this! Even though I'm swamped in local marketing, this is great for SEO of all kinds. I installed Keywords Everywhere right away, and working on Moz bar now. I always thought Moz bar was paid, which makes me feel bad for skipping the blogs about it.
Here's my concern: how do we best use this info besides just determining authority sites and finding keywords? Specifically talking about SimilarWeb here. It sounds interesting, but I can't see how knowing its analytics would help out.
