5. Obtain a Secure Certificate
A secure certificate, also known as SSL, is an online certificate that secures the connection between the web server that hosts your website and your visitors' internet browsers to ensure you have a secure transaction. If a bundled pre-packaged ecommerce service solution is what you have opted for, possibilities are, your e-commerce solution provider takes care of the security.
But if not so, you should ensure you secure an SSL certificate with your domain name. A secure certificate can be purchased from SSL certificate providers like Symantec and Thawte. Some hosting companies also take care of the certificate. They only charge you separately for it.
6. Design a Navigable E-commerce Website
One of the numerous factors that determine how successful your e-commerce venture will be is how your products and services are being represented on your websites. Design a website that properly showcases your products and services.
If your site poorly showcases your products, you tend to lose a whole lot of sales. If your website also appears clumsy for your visitors to navigate, you’ll lose many valuable customers. You should also consider optimizing your site for mobile devices.
I also know, think would be a better word, if your in the states....setting up a sole proprietorship is a must. I'm in CA and have been looking into it. Doesn't seem that difficult and then you can also apply for an EIN (so you don't have to use your social security number). Again, that's just what I've been thinking about doing.
