4. Choose the Appropriate E-commerce Platform
The key component of a website is the platform. It is therefore a good decision to choose the right e-commerce platform. This stage may be time and energy consuming, but this is a crucial decision to make, as nothing else can replace it.
One way to choose the right platform is checking out for platforms of the most prominent e-commerce websites that look similar to the one you intend setting up. Spend your time and resources in choosing the right platform for your websites, as you may find it difficult to later move to another, which will cost you time and funds.
The most suitable e-commerce platforms would provide you with all needed shopping tools, which include payment option, cart, website security and performance, and many more. They can be purchased as a bundle or separately and integrated into your e-commerce website plug-ins.
The ones found in the market are classified into either off-the-shelf software, bespoke software or Software as a Service – SaaS. Each has its merits and demerits. Choose the one that suits your needs. In the market, Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, Wix, and Sellr are the top e-commerce solution providers.
I also know, think would be a better word, if your in the states....setting up a sole proprietorship is a must. I'm in CA and have been looking into it. Doesn't seem that difficult and then you can also apply for an EIN (so you don't have to use your social security number). Again, that's just what I've been thinking about doing.
