2. Buy a Domain Name
What identifies your website on the web is your domain name. After you have made up your mind on what to sell on the internet, choose a domain name for your website which represents your online business.
Having a good name comes with the benefit of letting your business make it big on the internet. Choosing a domain name that is short, easy to spell and remember, and unforgettable, will give you an edge of driving in more traffic. You can purchase a domain name from hosting companies or registrars.
3. Choose the Appropriate Web Hosting Company
Every website has a server to sit on in making it available online, and the server configuration is a strong determinant for your e-commerce website performance on the internet. How your e-commerce website is hosted determines its uptime, speed, and performance. Hosting your website through the right host is therefore essential.
An online store should have a maximum uptime and be able to handle a lot of traffic. Website uptime and speed are now two major factors to acquire a good ranking on search engines (according to Google).
We now have hundreds of web hosting companies that offer different paid and free hosting packages and services with a variety of features. For a reliable service, a paid hosting package is advisable, since free hosting packages come with limited features. Also, consider a webhost that allows growth and flexibility.
I also know, think would be a better word, if your in the states....setting up a sole proprietorship is a must. I'm in CA and have been looking into it. Doesn't seem that difficult and then you can also apply for an EIN (so you don't have to use your social security number). Again, that's just what I've been thinking about doing.
