Hi everyone and welcome to Shawn's Tutorials.
Today's version will be on static pages and blog rolls.
What they are and how to use them.
I have been asked over and over about what a static page is, how to set it up and why to use it.
Another major series of questions I keep getting asked is how to make a blog roll page and should it be the opening page of the website and if yes, why?
First lets go over the definitions and how to use them.
Static Page:
A static page is a page you create to greet people who visit your website.
What static means is this page will be the first page your visitors will see when they come to your website by the main URL and this pages content will not change.
Blog Roll:
A blog roll is a page you create to hold all of your blog posts.
This is a regular blank page that you can assign to be your blog roll, and as you write blog posts and assign them to this page they create a blog roll with fresh posts from day to day, depending on how often you add posts.
You can set this page as the first page your visitors will see when they come to your site.
*** NOTE ***
If you set your site to blog roll, you may have to create a navigation tab for your blog so you can navigate back to it after you leave the opening page.
You can find that training here:
