Open Broadcaster Software (OBS)

OBS is an open source tool/software that has many features you can use. You can run it on Mac, Linux and Windows. You can customize the video and audio, edit and mix, and combine video from different sources and you will be able to preview before you publish.

To use it to record, you click on the + icon under Sources and click on the Display Capture tab. Next, change the name of the source to Desktop and select Ok.

• It can be paused and then continue from where you stopped
• It has an audio mixer

Even when your video recordings are very clear, it is also important that the audio recording should be clear too in order to add to the quality of the video.

Sometimes the screen capture software also does a good job with the sound recording. However, there are some in-built microphones that do not give clear audio recordings. Clear audio will also add to how professional your video will be perceived to be.
