Hi there and welcome to another edition of Shawn's Tutorials

This will be a two part tutorial.

Part one will be setting up your comments and part two will be managing them.

Part One:

Before we start, make sure your Akismet plug in is set up.

If yours is not set up go ahead and take care of it.

You can find training on setting this plug in up here

This plug in will keep most of the spam that would normally hit your site out of your comments box, as with anything it is not 100% . You will receive spam and we will go over how to deal with it.

OK, now that we are sure the Akismet plug in is all set up, we can move on.

Lets get started!

Hi Shawn. Thanks for sharing. When you have some time could you explain what the first two settings mean in default article settings and why we don't check them.Thanks.

Great presentation, Shawn...do you find it helpful to allow comments on your sites? How much moderation does that take on your part? Just curious...if this sounds dumb, well, I'm still in the basement finding my way back up!

I allow comments on most of my posts. They can be extremely helpful in ranking.
managing them is not a big deal as you will see in the next tutorial. :)

Like I always say, the only dumb question is one not asked. :)
