On some themes or possibly all of them there is a header title which has a dark colored background and if you decide not to use a title but a header image instead it will still leave the small dark background over your header image (it's the dark small rectangle over the s in my website logo seen above). There is an easy process to remove this small rectangle that I believe will work with any theme but for training purposes this was done on the no nonsense theme
Tools used:
- Firefox Inspector (firefox tools for developers)
- Wordpress Editor
Step One:
Open Fire fox and type your url into address bar
Step Two:
Once your page has fully loaded, right click on the text header bar and click on Inspect Element.
Fire Fox will bring up the built in web developement tools with the element highlighted in the HTML code as the picture below depicts.
Now that we have figured out that the element we are looking for in the CSS code is an H2 title within the headerTEXT ID we can now head to Wordpress and work on editing the code.
