Over the years of blogging and creating content for my blog, I have encountered a few people who try to promote their own products and services by commenting on other peoples blogs. I personally don't mind anyone doing this on my blog, so long as I approve of what they are promoting.

However, there are also lots of people who try to promote scams by posting misleading information via spam comments. As most of these comments are pretty lengthy and manually written, they can often get past the spam blocking software.

Let me show you a couple of examples that I have received...

As you can see, these comments are clearly classed as spam! Both of these comments are promoting practices that you really don't want to be associated with. Getting rid of these spam comments and stopping them from posting again is the best option in my opinion, because once you accept a comment like this you will open the floodgates to many more!

So how do we stop comments like this? Well, thankfully WordPress make the process very easy...
