Look at some of the posts on the internet and it is embarrassing how the grammar and spelling is terrible. That is a turn off to most people. You are better than that. All of us can do better.

This is simply about writing, not selling, however, writing IS selling. So, learning to write well will guarantee good selling posts.

There are many great lessons here at WA about writing content. I don’t intend to try to reinvent the wheel, so if you want to know how to write profitable content, see several lessons that are already prepared.

This is about making your post or blog look nice, with good grammar, spelling and punctuation. Nothing turns people off more than poorly written material and there really is no excuse for it. With the tools and lessons, we have here at Wealthy Affiliate, we should be all producing good looking materials.

Well said Joe

An aside:
I look back & laugh, when at school many moons ago, the subject I loved & excelled in was English, unfortunately, Mathematics was my worst subject.... guess what ..... I became an accountant LOL.

I see posts here on WA & I sometimes shudder. I always take into account if English is not the first language of the poster.

My suggestion to all, is to read the post BEFORE hitting the add button. Many times I see typing errors, thus making the word almost indistinguishable. As others have said, use a spell checker.
Your website also requires these checks.

Excellent article! I especially resonate with your advice to run that spell checker more than once. I have noticed on almost every occasion that it will just stop half way through. I run it 2-3 times just to be on the safe side.

That's smart! Even if it goes all the way, I run it several times.

I think it's great you've contributed training about spelling and grammar. I think we could use a lot more training here on that topic. I'll have to stop back by and finish where I left off, but I've enjoyed the part I've read so far.

Hello, MRovelet! : )

Nice to meet you! Don't worry, with time, your posts will become better and better!

I believe the main point Joe was trying to make is, to write posts having good grammar and spelling. It just looks bad if people write articles and you find numerous spelling errors, or if it written with poor grammar.

If you need help, the community here is always willing to lend a hand.

Best wishes,

Cathy : )

I agree, Joe! Whenever I see something with poor grammar/spelling, I don't consider it worth while to read.

All of us make mistakes, now and then. However, when presenting an article for the world to read, we need to be sure that it is well written. For those who feel they are not capable to produce quality content (in that respect), there are other avenues they can look at for assistance.

I normally notice mistakes, having been a legal assistant for many years. So, I hope there aren't any here, with what I've written. : )

Thank you for this post that has brought attention to this matter … in creating well-written articles for our websites!

Blessings,

Cathy

I agree. So much poor writing and there is no excuse.
You feel for some of them as they are so sincere.

Excellent points, Joe. So many times, you see obvious spelling or grammar errors, and that can turn what would have been a great post into one people avoid. I think this is one of the main points to pay attention to when writing.
