Getting Started
Getting people to enter their emails into a box sounds simple. But in reality, it can be one of the toughest things you will ever do.
A few years ago, it actually was pretty easy.
You could have a sidebar form or a pop-up box that says "Join Our Newsletter" and a great percentage of your traffic will turn into email subscribers.
Today, no matter how awesome your opt-in forms are, you'd be lucky to get 1%. "Sign up Now!" just doesn't cut it anymore.
That's why you'll need something called a lead magnet. Which is basically an incentive you'll give to the people who give you their email addresses. It's essential in today's lead generation.
We'll talk a lot more about lead magnets later.
Before you officially start building your list you'll need a set of tools. And don't worry, there are a bunch of email marketing and list building tools out there that are free to use.
So let's get started.
I'm trying a slightly different tactic I found online that's free for life and also offers the free marketers as well. Just call me cheap!! I did write a review about it. I've got to make some time tonight and finish it up so it's on auto pilot for me lol. I also want to check out the other free programs with it so I can review them as well. I'm glad you mentioned mailchimp and the 2000 limit because I was thinking about using them, but trying to set it up gave me a head ache so I went with an easier route. Thanks for the information--it was very helpful. take care and best wishes!!
