Link is what makes internet an interactive media which other media platforms like newspapers, TV, and radio can't do. So, learning how to use link to your WordPress website is very important. Without links, your website will become very dull and static.
Link, by the word itself, serves the purpose of pointing you to a new direction once you click on it. A link can be a word or an image. A link can direct you internally (within your website) or externally (other webpages).
On this lesson, you will learn how to use link into your posts or pages. It's very simple to do and you don't need any html knowledge to do this.
So, let's get started.
How to put Link to words in WordPress Pages or Posts?
1. Highlight the word or words that you want to put a link on.
2. Click the Link tool from the formatting toolbar.
3. You can type the URL to which the word will link to. Then, just click the blue arrow beside the text box when done.
4. Another option is to click the Link Options icon.
You can type the URL of the webpage from other websites you want to link on. This will create an external link. Or, you may choose the post or page within your website where you want to point your link on. This will create an internal link on your website.
If the link is outside your website, it is called External Link. If your link are the pages or posts within your website, it is called Internal Link.
When done, just click Add Link and then Publish / Update your post.
How to put Link to an Image in WordPress Pages or Posts?
This is very useful especially if you want to use a banner with your affiliate link on it within your pages and posts.
So, to start doing it, here are the steps.
Note: You can apply the same steps we did above in an image. But here, I will teach you the other way to do it.
1. Insert the image you want to create a link on on your Working Area. If you forgot how to insert an image to post or page, refer to Lesson 8 of this tutorial.
2. Click the image within your post or page, and you should see the formatting icons (align left, align center, align right, no alignment) with the pencil icon at the end. Click the pencil to edit.
3. At the Display Settings, click the arrow-down with the word Link To and choose Custom URL.
4. Type the URL where you want to point your link to.
5. Optional: At the Advanced Options, you can tick the box where it says "Open link to a new tab". The image's link will open to a new browser's tab and do not affect the current webpage that your reader is using.
So, this is how easy we put links on images.

No, I have not created a sub-page yet as I do not have enough details to do that. I need specifics and if it's too simple - it doesn't have enough information. I've read the directions a bunch of times and I still don't get it.
Thanks a lot!
