Normally, you’d have different links scattered in a typical blog post. It could be a link within a page, or a link to a different page. Sometimes, you even get to see a link telling you to take an action. Internal links are links in a page that lead to other pages within your blog.
Although links are of two different types, for the purpose of this piece we shall look into internal links.
Types of Internal Links
Below are the types of internal links and what they do on a page.
Internal Links to Content
Ever been to a blog or website and seen a post with links urging you to open a post? It could be a link for you to click and learn more about a particular thing the writer discussed. Then when you open the link, it takes you to a different post within same blog or website. Those are internal links, and they’re mostly colored to make them obvious to readers.
I put this as the first on the list because it is a very vital link on pages. This type of link is what generally comes to mind when talking about internal links. These links work as the name suggests.
That is, when you click on them, they take you to another content page. This kind of link is what you’ll mostly find in contents.
You can use links to content to urge your readers to open a link. It could be a link to a related post or a link to a different post. Sometimes, you can even decide to embed advertisement links on your page to promote a product.
I love all the information you wrote here about Internal links.
And I like this much, "Embedding relevant links in your article will give readers a nice experience as well as promote your site. This way, you get to kill two birds with one stone."
Thank you for sharing this excellent and informative training with all of us.
Thank you so much and best wishes,
