Writing content that ranks and converts is one of the greatest challenges for new online marketers. I struggled with it for many months before I finally got confident enough to really produce content that I was happy with.

The main things that helped me improve my writing was to practice. Lots of what I produced back in the day was very mediocre, but you can’t achieve a 5 minute mile without running plenty of 8 minute miles in the beginning, right?

But many people are completely lost when it comes to how to write even a basic article!

So today I want to teach you the very basic foundation of how I learned to write, and how you can write a 500 word article relatively easily.

The great part about this method of writing for newbies is that it gives you a clear set of parameters, so you don’t have to focus too much on “being creative”.

Hi Nathaniell,

another very helpful and well-done tutorial. I like it a lot.

I would like to add to it, if I may, that if, for example, someone has a writer's block or doesn't know how to structure the post, or for any other reason whatsoever the writing becomes a problem, then the easiest way to write is: just writing.

Putting words on a paper (or screen) in any order, just as they come, always related to the topic.

This is what helps me when I am stuck. Just putting relevant content on the paper and later editing it. You may write out of your head, or after researching the topic online and offline, or after discussion with somebody about the topic.

The resources for finding the content for writing are very broad.Endless.

Write down anything you know about the relevant topic. Just write. One full page, or two pages, three pages, doesn't matter, or even just half of the page, 400,500,1000 or 1500 words, or even more.

You can always create more articles from largely written content.

Then, read the article couple of times (maybe just 2-3 times), and start creating the title for it and paragraphs ordered logically. And that's it. The article is prepared. If needed, re-edit it and at the end of it, after or within the conclusion add the call to action.

I am not going into the linking strategies within the article, it is just about writing.

After posting the article, there is still time to come back and to re-edit it.

If re-editing it, best would be not to change the title and the URL of it.

Simple. So, the main point is just to write, of course, as mentioned before, and as always mentioned, the writing must be related to the topic or linking to the specific content about the topic. This is in case you are writing for the readers with the intention to present the subject of the topic and then send them to it.

As I can see you are very experienced in writing and other affiliate stuff and marketing, so your help is for sure valuable for the newbies and other marketers, as here at WA, so in general as well.

Thanks for sharing!

Great Lesson. You really take the mystery out of writing an "SEO friendly" post.
Sometimes when I look at other websites, in my niche area I see great looking websites with great content, then I say to myself," I can't write like that" This lesson is very helpful, I don't have to be a great writer just good enough to give pertinent information to visitors.

Thank you Nathaniell.......this was a really beneficial post. I've been having a terrible time crafting article ideas, into sensible and uncomplicated articles. This post is very good teaching for me and I have bookmarked it, as well as printed it out. My common sense viewpoint is if it works for you, it'll work for me.

Very interesting nathaniell.

It is simple, straight to the point and takes away the fear that comes with writing.

I can relate to this as a language teacher. Whenever I tell my students that we are writing a 500 word essay their first reaction is 'What on earth shall we do to have 500 words!"

But by the time I start breaking the process down, they realize it possible. Strange enough the end result is always amazing. That is holding them down to 500 words and not more. When they find the topic interesting, they always want go beyond that.

Thx for that "Easy Way" to write a 500 word article, awesome actually. Reminds me of a strategy I once learned and had long forgotten... "Tell em what your going to tell em, tell em, tell em what you told em." There is definitely some comfort in a structured approach as a fall back or simply as a go-to.

Thx Again Nathaniell

Cheers,
Mark

Wow Nathaniel, this is an awesome lesson and I have marked it as a favourite!

It really breaks down the process if creating an article. Before reading this I would probably have dived right in without a structure.

However, having a structure really does make it easier to write 500 words by taking it in bite sized chunks!

You are a born teacher Nathaniell, this is a fantastic post.

Nathaneil, this tutorial was really informative to me. Thank you so much also for the embedded/linked articles by kyle. Being such a newbie on the whole SEO ranking & conversion rates concept, this really opened a valuable aspect to my thinking regime relative to content readiness. Once again just simply rad.

This is really great! It makes everything a whole lot simpler. It's easy to follow. Nothing complicated. Very straight forward. This is very helpful. Thanks so much, Nate. I feel so much motivated now coz I was thinking on how to write a content coz I felt it was very difficult at first. Too many things to write & yet I have no idea how to arrange those. Plus things just got jumbled up once you've started writing. Thanks again, Nate!
