How to Find Licensed Videos with Creative Commons (CC)?

If you intend to find videos licensed with Creative Commons, there are numerous ways to do this, or better still, several websites that you can access. These websites are the best places for you to find CC-licensed videos and ensure you are sharing legal content.

YouTube

YouTube is one of the most common platforms where you can find CC-licensed videos. The easiest way to search for CC videos on YouTube is simply to enter the terms in the search bar and then add “creative commons”.

SpinXpress

This platform allows you to search for CC-licensed videos by entering only a search term and the type of Creative Commons License you are looking for. As long as you choose one of the fonts used by the platform, you can also specify the video's media source.

Vimeo

This platform offers several complete licenses with detailed explanations for each one on the right side of the page. Below each license, you can view an address to browse all videos of a specific type of license of your choice. You can also do your searches using the Advanced Option to find the video that suits your preferences.

This media content platform is a great alternative to YouTube. It has more lax policies when it comes to uploading content, and is the favorite platform for short films and artistic visual projects.

Vimeo also allows you to search for videos with a Creative Commons (CC) license, of which there are more than two millions on the platform that can be used in your audiovisual pieces (although always with conditions, for example, some authors will ask to be accredited).

Yes, I like that as I don't like making them! I also recently found Sniply which allows you to put a call-to-action on the front of the video that can lead to an affiliate page, or your website. Bingo! https://snip.ly/dashboard
