As with any social network, you need to fill out your profile page to inform your visitor as to who you are. It is very much like the About Me page on your website. If you do not explain who you are, what your intentions are about, and most importantly have a picture of yourself, then you are not giving your readers a sense of trust.

Many times I see people put up a picture of their pets or a picture of something that is not a picture of themselves. What is wrong with these people? Don’t they know that if they do not share with their website and social media visitors who they are, they will not get many customers? What are they afraid of?

So when it comes to setting up your Pinterest profile what you need to do is use an image of yourself. As you can see in the image above, I use the same image I use everywhere online. I do this mainly because it makes the connections between my content more recognizable in that I am using the same picture, and I do this because it is easier to use just one picture.

As seen in the image above below my familiar profile picture is my name (you can use a pen name or company name if you like), where I am located, my website address (this is HUGELY important for traffic), and a brief description of my services.

Very good Robert. My site really isn't ready to start promoting on Pinterest but it will be soon. I am saving this training. Thanks again.

I started with Pinterest a few months back and now have 1100 followers..woo hoo! When I post a good article and add text to it, I always share it on my Pinterest wall. This has led to some traffic which will only increase over time.

This is great advice on cleaning up my boards. I thought I should have been doing that but haven't had the time.

It is now my next priority!

Thank you!

You are welcome and as you have seen, the more followers you have the more traffic you will get from not just them but those non-followers too.

Great training. I have been playing around with Pinterest and tried out a few boards. However I have not had good results from it in terms of driving traffic to my blogs.

Thank you. Just like everything having to do with website development, getting traffic from social media takes effort and time.
