Step 1: Create an 'email forward' in WA SiteEmail using the 'New Email Forward' tab

How to create an email forward is demonstrated in the video by Kyle in the classroom https://my.wealthyaffiliate.co... at the 8.30 minute mark but I will give you a summary below.

Go into SiteRubix>SiteManager>SiteEmail and select New Email Forward tab.

That gives you 3 boxes to fill in:

1.The first box type in the name you choose for your domain email eg contact or support or admin or your name.

2. The second box you select which website domain it is for, from among those hosted at WA, the drop down menu has them listed there for you to choose.

3. The third box you fill in your own personal gmail address where you want this website email to be forwarded to.

For example in this training I'm going to choose contact@marymoz.com as my domain specific website email and create the 'email forward' to my gmail account like this:

All the mail to your website address now gets forwarded to your personal Gmail. However when you reply from gmail to this mail, the recipient will see your Gmail address as @gmail.com and not from your domain specific .com email address.

In step 2 on the next page of this tutorial we are going to now add your website email address to your gmail account so that your replies from gmail can show as from your website address, so the recipient now sees support@yourwebsite.com instead of name@gmail.com.

[For websites not hosted at WA there are some extra steps to take to create the 'email forward', then follow steps 2 and 3 to get the same result of sending website email from gmail. It is when you see how quickly the email forward can be created on the SiteRubix platform that you begin to realize the power of the SiteEmail feature on the SiteRubix platform.]

Thanks for the step by step! :) I did cover this in the training but I think I’ve got confused along the way. I tried to set up a personal gmail account using the same email address as my website account name but with hotmail at the end instead of site name, but obviously you can’t do this can you as it still recognises the same name *facepalm*. Am going to try again today thanks so much! :)

Hi Mary, sorry for the late reply, was busy with my day job & busy working on my niche site (been following the WA lessons closely)

Refer to the attached photos for the first page shown in the "gmail settings", I'm still getting the same results after i click the "next" button & inserting the same details as shown in your tutorial (please refer to my previous photo for the details of the troubleshoot)

Should I create an "incoming mail box" for SiteRubix's siteEmail as well or just "outgoing mail box" as according to your tutorial. Kindly advise, thanks Mary :)

Hi "MozMary":

Thank you so much for writing this helpful tutorial! I made it all the way to cofirming the email address I added to gmail. However, when I tried to send a test email to see if it showed it came from the alias email (and not gmail), I did not receive the test email (I checked my Junk folder, too).

Any idea why gmail wouldn't send the email?

Hi Charlie, mine sends immediately so let's take a look what's going on. Can you PM me a screen shot of what you did and I'll double check over it, you can use the free monosnap or whatever tool you are used to

I've followed the steps here two different times now and when I try to send a test from gmail using my website email it will not send.

Also, when I try to reply to an email sent to the website email through gmail and select the website email it will not send.

Any ideas on these issues?

yep, some step has been missed, in cases like this I have to take you through the steps one by one, starting at step one - can you screenshot your steps and either attach them here or PM them to me and I'll take a look at what you are doing. Monosnap is good free software for that

First, make sure you have clicked the tab 'New email forward' because when you go in there the webmail is the default and we are not using that

people also sometimes make mistakes in the yellow boxes, google made those mirror images - so screenshot these

I am not seeing the second yellow pop-up box asking for the SMTP details. Am I skipping a step. I want all of my domain email to be sent to G-Suite. I've added the domains on WA, added the emails on G-Suite. The message is sent but I never receive the confirmation email.

What am I doing incorrectly?
Reply
MozMary Premium
sounds like it

you'll have to take it one step at a time and one email address at a time and one website at a time, this is for setting up yourwebsite.com to your gmail so you'll have to show me some screen shots of what you've done
1. your create email forward for your first address
2. show me you are in gmail settings the correct place
3. show me the first yellow box and how you filled it in

you can send those shots by pm if you like

I have connected my domain specific email with "Check mail from other account" section in Gmail. I'm getting errors when i try to add my domain specific email in "Send mail as" section.

The error is : " Oops, we weren't able to finish. Please verify that you have entered the exact settings provided by your other email service. Contact your other email administrator for further details."
I'm pretty sure what i entered is what exactly WA gave me..
What do i do now?
Reply
MozMary Premium
you've missed a step somewhere, I can take you through it but first take a look at where you set it up in gmail, looks like the wrong place, it's not 'check mail from other account', it's the section above that 'send mail as' and it's in there you 'add another account'

if that doesn't work for you then you could have made a mistake in WA or in the yellow box so get back to me and I'll take you to step 1, but check your gmail settings first

I'll catch you later
Reply
Maran1 Premium
I did the way you said it.. Still i am getting errors.. Please help me here..
Reply
MozMary Premium
ok, then we start at step 1, let me know each step of the way what you've done - can you use a screenshot tool eg the one that comes with your computer or the free download monosnap to take pictures. You'd be surprised how people fill in the details sometimes, as the instructions in one part are like a mirror image.

step 1: make sure you selected the second tab option here

When you can confirm this then we'll look at step 2. You can post your confirmation here or PM it to me. And you can send me pics of all your steps if you have them.

Hi Mary, I think I may have forgotten to thank you for providing this training. Thanks.

You might remember I had a bit of fun and excitement with Site Emails a few weeks ago. In the end, I created a new personal gmail account and I followed these instructions. And haven't had email issues since.

Whenever I see an email question in WA comments where I think this training will help, I refer them to this training. Why? Because I know it works.

If you set up the email forward, the email should go to which ever address you put in as the forward. I recently had an issue with the webmail feature and I contacted SiteSupport and they were able to fix it. For some reason emails were not reaching my webmail. Have you checked the webmail inbox?

interesting, quite a few people were talking about webmail issues recently, glad they sorted it for you

webmail and email forward are two very different options though, between using the email service that comes with the hosting here [and having to login here all the time] or using email forward to your email/gmail, sometimes people forget to click on the email forward tab when starting out with the set up, as the default is webmail.
Reply

Yes, I was trying to get a verification code from Twitter and I had to turn off (or delete) the email forward, as the verification code wouldn't come through. I deleted the forward and still nothing happened. I contacted SiteSupport and still nothing happened. Then finally SiteSupported fixed whatever the problem was. Whew it was frustrating. I got the email verification from Twitter then I turned on email forwarding again. I have never used the webmail application before that, and I was getting the email forwards. Anyway, it was a major chore, but it's all good now.

I've seen this happen a couple of times recently and it is usually a mistake in the set up, I can walk you through it if you send me screenshots of how you filled in the boxes

1. make sure you chose create email forward and not webmail
2. make sure you did not use an email that already existed in webmail
3. make sure you choose the settings in gmail, and go into accounts and import<----at this point give me screen shots of how you fill in the boxes

The old domain specific email address is set up as an alias in gmail.

Could there be a conflict?
Reply
MozMary Premium
Well sounds like stuff in motion there

in a day or two get back to me on this, I'd have specific questions on your 'old' vs 'new' domain email, they should be different...it is the new domain you will be making it for, can't be an old one of the same name if you've 'moved your domain over to a new one today'...

when you say go through WA, we create the email forward where the website is hosted so that all email to our website can then be directed to our email addresses, so it will start at WA

I'm not using google+ at the moment myself, you can take a look at magistudios training on that or the lessons in social media, I'm not sure it's used for email though

Aha! I published a training here in video format for the exact same thing: By the way, I suggest you to cover up the entire password for your SMTP details.
Reply
MozMary Premium
Hi Jerry, one big difference visible right away is yours is a video this is a tutorial on pages - two very different learning modes, different peeps related to different ways of learning

As I said to someone in the comments - I only found a training on this after I did mine, again it was another video- that's partly to do with the search box, it is very hard to find a comprehensive list of stuff and some things just don't come up. I hope the boys improve that search feature for the platform.

Marion also popped in to say she's done it for outlook and another provider. I also notice that we all have different styles of teaching, that's why the whole blogosphere is so successful, different audiences are going to relate to different people even on the same topic, as long as they are all genuinely original work and not copying or gaming, which I think the new rules are trying to protect against now - a welcome move.

Thanks for popping in - the thing about the dashboard these days is it is dominated by certain people chatting about themselves and doing spoof 'helpful' blogs - I totally missed you, good people need to blog more to get seen, but I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of your training now. Also thanks for the tip on pw, will check that out.

Reply
MozMary Premium
Hi Shel, yes the SMTP port settings at WA have to match the option in the yellow box

Can I clarify what you said:

Are you looking at the SMTP settings in WA SiteEmail, and are they telling you port 25? And then when you are in the yellow box that did not let you choose 25?

Is your email forward set up within WA SiteEmail?

I'll show you what it looks like for me in the attached photo, the menu has 3 port options: 587, 25, and 465

When people set up an email forward outside WA then the port is different - did you create the email forward at WA?

You may have to ask site support if your website is hosted at WA and the menu doesn't offer you 25, or send me a screenshot and I'll take a look

ps will catch this later, I'm in a different time zone.
Reply
MozMary Premium
Shel, I'd like to check with you precisely what details you are filling into the yellow box, that question you wrote had some details that didn't look correct.

What you wrote in your question should not have been the same.

1. Check your email forward, shel in one box, your domain clicked in the second box, your gmail in the first box? nothing else with shel

2. Add Another email address you own - this is the first yellow box that comes up - let's see exactly what you put into this first yellow box? Then you click the next step, but let's see how you stand so far?

instead of choosing the subtitle 'send as a mail'' i have chose on the 'check mail from other account subtitle' which is located right below the first one.
try again and choose the 'send as a mail' title, and when you get up to the confirm part, check out your mail box and press on the attached link.
from there you'll see that you able to receive and send e-mails for both of your email's account.
i hope it will be helpful!
