Hi Everyone

Today is a day of firsts for me.

This is my first video training on Wealthy Affiliate. Finally!

Thanks @AlenkaV for encouraging me to get cracking with videos.

And Thanks @LynneHuy for encouraging me through her vast library of excellent video tutorials.

I'm been invited as a Guest Twitter Chatterer / Twitcher / Twit on a Twitter Chat for the first time this evening.

I've scheduled my Tweets for the first time.

I found that learning how to schedule Tweets FREE of charge was a bit tricky so I've uploaded this training to show you the way.

How to Schedule Tweets FREE

I used TweetDeck and found it marvellously simple to use and easy to navigate. Even for me (a non-Techy).

It's all explained in the video. Thanks for watching.

My First Scheduled Tweet is Tweeted

Here's the Tweet I scheduled during the video.

I went back and checked at 09:34 to make sure my scheduled Tweet had actually Tweeted.

It had and was right on Schedule - at 09:10 (see the 24m next to the Tweet

Phew! Now I'm ready for the Twitter Chat tonight.

Over to You

I'd love to know what you think in the comments below.

Should I try do more video or stick to writing content?

I tried tweet deck in its early days and didn`t get on with it. I always used Twuffer to schedule free tweets.
Now I use SocialJukebox, it`s paid but I joined in the beta testing stage so got it at a bargain price when it started charging.
Congrats on the video training.

Oh, interesting, Linda. I haven't come across Twuffer yet. Has it closed down? Can't seem to access the site. Thanks for sharing your valuable experience.

Apparently it has been upgraded. I found it on the Twuffer twitter account. https://twitter.com/twuffer

Thanks Linda. Aah, it looks great, Thanks. 50 Scheduled Tweets a month on their free plan.

When I used it there was no paid plan you could schedule as many as you liked. Makes a handy starter tool.

Good job! Especially for your very first video!
We don't do Twitter so I can't comment on it other than to say it was clearly well-organized and thought out.
The neutral background and no fussy, distracting patterns are very good. Your clothes were solid colors.
I (Colette) used to do a lot of commercials and auditions when I had an agent. I have also done a lot of media classes. And I have studied with professionals and learned a lot about what colors to wear on camera.

May I suggest you smile a little bit more and perhaps tie back your hair so we are just seeing your beautiful face. Distraction is the enemy of communication, my casting agent friend always says, and your (fantastic) hair is a little distracting.

That blue background is perfect. The other color that looks best on camera is peach or warm apricot. It brings color to the skin. Maybe a shirt in that color would look very good on you. Especially with that blue background because those are the best colors on camera.

Also, if you can try to look straight at the camera a bit more so that you grab us with your eyes. Try not to let your eyes dart around too much.

Hope you don't mind this input. It would just make it look more polished.

You really did an amazing job! I adore your accent!

ps. Can I borrow your hair sometime?:D

Hi Colette, Thanks so much for your positive criticism. I really appreciate that you took the time to give me those dynamite tips.

I'm taking them all on board and hoping that every time I take a new video, I perform a bit more professionally than the time before.

On bad hair days, I'll definitely tie my hair back. :) Not sure I'd look that great in peach or apricot (I'm much comfier in red). I'll certainly give it a shot.

Thanks again for taking the time to watch my video and give me such detailed feedback. You're a STAR.

Red or a warm yellow would look great too, with that blue background.
You are also very photogenic!

Thanks Colette. I almost bought a peach top yesterday but the red was calling me (as usual).

Awesome training Lauren! And I have done paid ads with Twitter and scheduled in that way but I am not keen on paying for Tweets :) And yes I can use Social Jukebox for scheduling tweets but for some reason I just don't like scheduling using that program, I like to only add evergreen content to my jukeboxes.

This looks really simple and easy to use. I'm interested to know how many Twitter accounts you can link to Tweetdeck, since I have at least 6!

I'm most certainly going to make use of this tool, it really is handy and I often need to schedule influencer tweets ahead of time. It will make my life much more simple. Thank you!

And great video by the way, welcome to the fun and exciting world of video tutorials :) PS loved taking part in your Twitter Chat this evening. I think that is really something that I can make use of soon myself. I will just need some more training from you about doing one.... hint hint

Thanks a mill, Lynne!

Yes, great point about the Evergreen posts, I noticed Social Jukebox scheduling is different to TweetDeck because posts are looped.

Yup - I found Tweetdeck very user-friendly. Let me know what you think once you've given it a go.

Thanks so much for coming on the Twitter Chat last night. It was lovely to have you there. Appreciate your support -as always. I'm also a complete newbie, I'm only one Twitter Chat ahead of you now but I'm happy to teach you what I know. :) Of course, the best way to learn is to do. Perhaps we should set up a Wealthy Affiliate Twitter Chat? Not sure if that's allowed?

Ooooohhhhh that would be amazing, but I would not promote it here since I am sure they want to keep the engagement here. However if you set up a Wealthy Affiliate members Twitter chat without using the WA platform to promote it then I would think it is a great idea.... I've made loads of friends on Facebook from WA so it won't be hard to set up!

Hi Laurenjean,

great start at your video career! Nice neutral background with no distractions, very nice. Great job varying your vocal tone to maintain interest in your words. It looks like you are using Screen-cast-o-matic?

You might want to consider more body movements and some hand gestures to get some body language in the video -- hard I know, given the small screen area available. But we learn to use that a lot teaching children English online and it is effective to get the hand movements in -- well -- as long as they don't appear to random :)

I hope you enjoy making videos and keep it up! I notice you didn't mention it as far as I could tell, but Jay is running a series of video trainings on using YouTube for video blogging - maybe you do know about it -- great stuff!

cheers.

Hi Marc, oh did I do all that? Thanks a ton for your enthusiastic response.

Yup, I'm using Screencast-o-matic. Thanks so much for mentioning the hand movements. I think I stopped myself at one point, when I noticed I was gesticulating. I'll bring that in more then. I naturally use my hands quite a bit when I speak so it shouldn't be too difficult to get it right.

I really did enjoy videoing today, Thanks. This might just become my new favourite thing to do online. Who knows? Let's see how tomorrow's video goes. ;)

Wow Lauren, EXCELLENT training... Thank YOU!
Like'd and tagged for future referencing and sharing.

Question: so, we are not allowed to use a URL that would (might) display our header image then, correct?
Reply
laurenjean Premium
Hi Trish, Thanks so much. Happy to hear you enjoyed it enough to tag it for future reference.

Not sure I understand your question? Do you mean in our Wealthy Affiliate posts? I'm not sure.

Can I add a URL to a post... you know... use the scheduling Twitter chat option to schedule a post instead... but I would want to have the header image display, just like when I do a live tweet?

See screen print below...

Because my site has a Twitter card in place, when I share the URL, the header image is displayed automatically.

That was great and very natural. Don’t worry about the m”s which will go eventually. I understood everything, you were always in the picture (some people move about and you tend to lose them) and the audio level was fine.
Can I just ask two things please? One where does the XWBchat hashtag which you added before any other hash tags come from please (I know very little about hash tags - sorry) and secondly how did you record this with your window in the bottom right please meaning which software and was it on a laptop? I have an iPad Pro which is great for audio but I haven’t been able to get it set up like you have here. Thanks and give yourself a big pat on the back for achieving VIDEO!!

Hi Philip, Thanks for providing such valuable feedback. Much appreciated.

Hashtags are generally used for your keywords, to generate traffic to your posts.

In this instance, the hashtag is to help you find all posts related to the Twitter Chat. Twitter Chats usually have their own unique hashtag. When you type the hashtag into the Twitter search bar at the designated time of the chat, you can access chats and participate.

Or you can authorise TweetChat and Set the Hashtag so you don't miss any posts. That's what I'll be doing for tonights Twitter Chat. TweetChat allows you to interact directly from their platform, liking, retweeting or responding to posts, pretty much as you would on Twitter.

I used ScreenCast-O-Matic for my video. It's an online video software tool, similar to Camtasia (which seems to be the most popular choice with more experienced video marketers).

It's one of the least expensive options around for recording both screen and yourself via your webcam. I've been using the free version up until today when I tried their free trial of the Video Editor. I created my video and uploaded it to Wealthy Affiliate. Only, once it had rendered on WA,
I noticed that the ScreenCast-O-Matic Watermark was really big and very distracting.

So I upgraded to "Solo Deluxe" version for $18 a year. Once I'd logged in and installed the new version of the App, the Watermark was removed. I published and downloaded the video again and uploaded the new one to Wealthy Affiliate. Would have been far simpler if I just upgraded before I created my video. Lesson learned.

Thank you very much for the info on the hashtags, appreciated. I have used screencast-o-matic in the past, found it to be very good and this is available to use on an iPad Pro so this is great news.
Thanks again and good luck with more video work. I am now about to start on this medium for WA, having hesitated too long. See how inspirational you are !!

Hi Lauren! Thanks for this training! I have heard of Twitterdeck before but never tried to use it. I just set up a Twitter schedule with another program but i think I'll do this instead! Alanna

Heya Alanna, cool. Hope switching over to Tweetdeck saves you some money. Or did you find another Free Program for scheduling Tweets?

I had added my Twitter account to my Social Pilot account. With SocialPilot you can have a maximum of 3 accounts for free before they make you pay. I have 5 accounts that I want to use for social media. Between SocialPilot and TweetDeck I can do 4. Still looking for a way to do all 5 for free!

Just tried TweetDeck. It's very busy! Will definitely take some getting used to! :D Thanks again for the great tip! Maybe I'll see ya on Twitter!

Haha Alanna. I hear you. That's what I thought when I first looked at TweetDeck too.

I'll check out SocialPilot. Thanks for letting me know about it.

I believe Hootsuite and SocialJukebox are great for scheduling Tweets too but they are both paid services.

Hi Alenka, Thanks so much for the compliment!!
Yes, I have a couple of YouTube Channels but it's against Wealthy Affiliate's policies to upload our WA Tutorials elsewhere.
We are allowed to share the link to our Tutorial on our social media channels, so I just finished sharing on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.
