One of our members recently commented on one of her posts that she wasn't familiar with using Google+, so I thought a brief training video would be helpful to her and anyone else interested in the subject.

As I mentioned in the video, the more communities that you join within your niche, the more likely you are to gain followers and visitors to your website.

If anyone else within the community has any other information that they would like to share about Google +, please do so.

I'm assuming I'm the WA member you're referring to, as my recent WA post was about Google Plus and being unfamiliar with how it works? (However, I also noticed that Google Plus has a "Help" feature with information, which I haven't read yet.)

Excellent tutorial. However, I have a couple of questions, if you don't mind:

At 1:15 in video, I was wondering about "Tomas's interests." So you have "Facebook", "Network Marketing", etc. I assume those are categories you created and that you have a BUNCH of communities/groups you joined that you put UNDER EACH CATEGORY?

Also, at 4:12, after you click "Post", when the "Pick a category" menu comes up, there's a number of choices. You picked "Discussion", but it's not clear to me what the meanings of all the choices are, that is, what is "News" vs. "Companies" vs. "Publishers", etc.?

Hello Jean, thanks for the comments and the questions.

In reply to your first question, those are not categories that I created, these are communities that I joined, just as we are members of the Wealthy Affiliate community. Within each community that you join you share your posts, your images, and anything relevant to the niche represented by the community. The number of members of each community is displayed on each community's G+ home page.

Regarding your second question, it's totally up to you as far as which category to put it in. For example, I could have picked "Companies" for my Wealthy Affiliate review that I posted in the video, but I felt that the "Discussion" category was more appropriate because as we all know, Wealthy Affiliate is more than a company, it's an educational resource. You just have to decide which category most closely matches the content and the nature of the information that you are sharing.

I hope that this has helped you Jean, and have a great weekend.
