Here are a few tips that will help you in building your content strategy.
Prepare Your Links Properly
When you are in the process of writing that post, take time to check other related posts you have written. The number of resources you should relate to your post isn’t determined though; it depends on the post length! When selecting such resources, you need to ensure they are the best and are well related to the post.
For linking products and services to your post, you must also ensure that they are related to your post. If you are linking unrelated affiliate products to your post, then you are doing it the wrong way. Your affiliate links should always be products and services relevant to your audience.
Use a Call to Action
For your links to be more noticeable to the audience; there is nothing more effective than a call to action. Your call-to-action should be placed at strategic points where your audience can see and click links.
To keep your writing more precise, you can place your CTA’s on places where they can point to various links. When your CTA’s are not organized, it may seem a little overwhelming to the person reading your post.
Check for Error Pages and Expired Links
Some pages and resources you link to your post may be unavailable or have a slow loading speed. These kinds of pages may need to be fixed or removed completely from your post.
When checking for your inactive pages, you should also check for expired links and products that are out of stock. Some of these products or services have expiry dates to their links, or may simply be out of stock. Such links should be checked and removed from your post.
Go for Clickable Image Links
Aside from placing links with a call to action, you can also attach clickable image links to your post. Such links can be generated from an affiliate program, or for a particular product.
I had some Amazon links that were going to expired associate names and others that led to CJ advertisers who were no longer with CJ but had moved to other providers.
