What is needed to make your own mask?

To make your own mask, you need a bath towel, some elastics and eventually a stapler (you can do wIthout)

  1. The towel should reach from one ear to the other and cover your face from under your eyes, to under your chin .
  2. The elastics should be strong. When making your string, make sure it is not too thight . You will need between 4 and 5 elastics for the string (and two extra's to tie the edges of the towel ) .
  3. A stapler to lock your edges. If you have none, you need two extra elastics to tie the edges of your towel once correctly folded.

Let us see how to fold the towel in the next page.

awhh-hhh dear fleekie --- your care & concern touches many hearts all around the world ...

appreciate very much your health tips and especially, the 'how to' on making a washable mask for protection ...

and yes, we all need to advance and evolve further ... love lavender -- it is marvelously calming and air cleansing naturally for indoors ... i've made a couple of small spray bottles of it for use by mixing distilled water and some drops of lavender essential oil .... works wonders as an air purifier ...

thanks again for all your care ... 🧡🙏 ....

Thank you for the tutorial.

It is a good solution for when you need a mask and do not have one handy. Easy to prepare.

In theory, we do not need masks unless we are actually sick ourselves as unless it is a N95 grade mask it will not protect against the virus, and only then if you protect your eyes as well.

But a mask for sick people will help to diminish the spread of the virus.

I'm impressed by your "can do attitude". Although masks may not necessarily provide you with 100% necessary protection, I say "better this than nothing at all" especially if you are infected and don't have access to a face mask. I'm sure it must also provide some psychological feeling of doing something - other than washing hands and using hand sanitizer - particularly if you are infected and awaiting results of your test. Who needs pretty anyway? Kudos to you Fleeky!

As long as it is effective...
Bath towel has an absorbing quality...
if you are infected, it will not vape...

Thank you for telling me
Could not sleep, had to find a simple and workable solution for all

Take care... see my response down...

The towel is a good idea cause you can wash it and i like the lemon in water idea and spraying lavender in the house , hydrogen peroxide in your ears everyday will also kill any bugs and you can also wash countertops etc with it.
Great post will keep this one .

working as a caregiver we have a lot of face masks and gloves. but I do see the benefit in towelling much better than paper masks.
two products that not many people think about is food grade Hydrogen peroxide and Colodial Silver.
for 3% Hydrogen peroxide your racio is 1 to 9 for all tabletop surfaces, door handle ex, ex, or just a hand sanitizer and I find it doesn't dry your hands out. 1ouce 35% to 9 ounces of distilled water= 3%
I also use it in my water to oxidize my filtered drinking water. 35 % Food grade adding 8 drops to a gallon of distilled or filtered water. it is well known in the medical world that Batteria can't inhabit a healthy Oxidized body.
Colodial Sliver is the most natural antibiotic you can find. of course, there is a lot of talk on why not to us it. But the Big pharma doesn't want to lose their billion-dollar industry, you can take it from there. Linda

Take care, now you still can and take it very serious...
