On my WA promotional website I have used Long Tail Keywords 98% of the time, there were a few times that I did not. What I have found is that I get higher rankings and decent to great traffic, it all depends on the topic and how well I write the content.
THE POWER OF THE LONG TAIL
I currently have several pages on Google Page 1 Positions 1 to 5. Statistics say that website pages that appear within the top 5 positions on Page 1, receive roughly 75% of the search traffic for the particular query. All of these pages I use a Long Tail Keyword as the page title and nothing else, with most of them being questions.
So what are the benefits of Long Tail Keywords? As stated above, they help to give your website page a bit of an advantage in getting higher rankings. Other benefits are that they are less competitive, which also leads to higher rankings, and they tend to convert more than other keywords. Also over 70% of all search queries are for Long Tail Keywords.
The reason for this are that Long Tail Keywords target an audience that is closer to the buying or engaging phase than normal keywords. Example: The keyword “Reebok Running Shoes,” though not as broad as just “Running Shoes,” is still fairly broad and doesn’t indicate someone is looking to buy. However the Long Tail Keyword, “where can I buy Reebok Running Shoes” does indicate a possible sale.

This is excellent. I am at the stage in the WA training where I am supposed to sign up to a couple of affiliate programs.
I have hesitated to do that because at this stage I feel that my blog is missing a lot. For example I haven't done any reviews yet etc. Also, I have kept changing my mind about my content and kind of got away from the goal of helping people.
I started out with this in mind because that's the kind of person I am. I got carried away with the money side, but this article has me back on track again. Now I'm sure of what I need to do.
Am I wrong to to hold off signing up with affiliates if I feel that I need to get to a point with my content that satisfies me?
Thanks

Could you explain more in different for Meta description and Meta Keyword Tag (Which you recommend do not use). As I am confusing between this both.
What you means DO NOT use meta keyword tag means avoid stuffing the keyword into meta description. ?
Correct me if I am wrong.
Thank you
Maxx
I really enjoyed your tutorial, but remain confused about which one of the following would be the best set of keywords to use?
how to improve seo for a website – 128 / 0
jobs you can work at home – 327 / 67
what is website content – 684 / 97
The first has low searches and 0 competition. The last has a lot more searches but still the QSR is below 300 like the others, so wouldn't that be the one to go with?
Thanks Dave
