Whether you are looking to get some Wealthy Affiliate referrals or not, just remember that most of the content you create within the WA community, will get indexed into Google. This means that EVERY question discussion, training tutorial, and WA blog that you write, is also visible to the entire internet.

That being said, if your titles and the first 155 to 160 character spaces are written using a keyword and/or is compelling enough to make someone want to click on it when seeing it in Google, you have the opportunity to get a WA referral. How is this possible?

YOUR WA CONTENT IS LIKE AN AFFILIATE LINK

As you know, in order to receive an affiliate commission, your referral needs to join via your affiliate link. As I have described in my training on how to get people to join Wealthy Affiliate (see link on the next page), there are many ways and places within WA to get your affiliate links.

However you DO NOT need an affiliate link to get an affiliate commission when sharing the link to ALL content that you have written within WA. When you are the author of WA content, you will automatically get credit for any non-WA member who clicks your link.

THIS IS POWERFUL & HERE’S WHY

We are all taught in the training that using too many affiliate links within our website content is bad for our Google rankings. Google does not like websites with affiliate links within the content on every page and post. However, if you are linking to your own content within WA, it is not an affiliate link!

In the image above from one of my website’s blog posts, I am linking to a WA blog I had written asking all of you what you all liked about being a member. Seeing how I was the author of the blog, I did not have to use an affiliate link and thus Google does not see it as such.

Kyle and Carson have designed the WA referral system to give us credit for anyone who joins Wealthy Affiliate through our own content. Using your WA blog’s affiliate link is not necessary. All you do is share the raw link. Personally I use Pretty Links to make it look more presentable, see below image.

This means you could have links to as many of your WA blogs within your website content and none of them will be affiliate links, though you will still get referral credit from them. Now when I want to get my website visitors into WA without using an affiliate link, I just link to one of my relevant WA blogs.

Well I did this and posted the link on social media sites. Google + removed the post and then gave me a message to say I had violated some rule. Read the rules and I didn't. I can only assume someone reported it. A competitor? I do hope not one from this community.

Hey Karen,

I've heard how difficult it can be to rank in Google+ with affiliate links, so I would recommend you limit your affiliate links to 3 per page and/or post ... and use Pretty Link to make those links less obvious to your website visitors. This seems to work best for me.

Hope this helps you.

You cannot post WA links on Google+ or Pinterest because they will be blocked and considered as spam. WA links will only be accepted on Facebook and Twitter.

Pretty Links will not help much because Google+ does not accept an kind of links from WA. They consider all links from WA to be spam, regardless if they are affiliate links or not.

Oooh ... sorry ... I should have continued that advice by stating using Pretty Links within a post or page consisting of 3 affiliate links at the MOST and then share THAT post on Google+.

Sometimes I seem to expect people to read my mind. It makes me a tad upset with myself when I realize what I've done. This time I may have confused Karen by not offering the COMPLETE story the first time around.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention Rob!

No problem. We all make errors from time to time.

Oh YES!!! Totally agree with you! The moment I started choosing "low hanging fruit" keywords as the titles of my WA posts I started seeing a marked increase in my WA referrals. Fab training, Robert.
You also must have made a small fortune from this training this year... 222 Likes and 156 comments. Wow.
I especially liked your tip about including links to WA posts in your website posts. Thanks.

You are welcome Lauren.

Many of the WA blogs and even training tutorials that I create here at WA, I will link to from inside my website content. I do this as another way to get my website visitors to WA.

Seeing how I am the creator/author of these WA blogs and tutorials, I do not need to use the affiliate link to those posts in order to get the affiliate commission should my website visitor join WA.

This way I could include as many links to my WA blogs and tutorials in my website content, and Google will not see them as affiliate links...because they are not, though they act as though they are.

I am not quite understanding this and I want to so badly, I have been mulling it over for a few hours.
So, If I copy n paste my affiliate links of any of my WA blogs
(that are also hopefully ranking in Google in their own rights)
apply a pretty link of it - do I then put it in my website?

You do not need to place your affiliate links on your WA blogs because the blog itself is an affiliate link being that you are the author of it.

All content YOU create here at WA can be shared without using the affiliate link for it.

The only times you would use an affiliate link is when you are sharing content that another WA member created or when sharing the affiliate link to the WA home page.

You can place non affiliate links to any of your WA blog posts or training on your website and Google will not consider them as affiliate links because they will not contain an affiliate ID in the url.

AGAIN, all content you create here at WA can be shared without using the affiliate link for it. You will still get all affiliate referral credits that come from people joining WA through your WA blogs because you are the creator of said blog.

O.K. so the WA Blog is a non-affiliate link.
How do I link that to my website?
What else is considered a non-affiliate link?
How do I share a non-affiliate link Say one of my WA blogs to Twitter or Facebook?
I have noticed that the WA blogs we do there is a Google + button at the top to share that but did wonder if it was O.K to do that. As when I did a few weeks ago Google suspended me.
I have no idea why I can't get my head around this Boomer.
Sorry for bugging you. And being a bit dense.
Andi.

DO NOT share any WA affiliate links on Google+, Google will block them because all WA links are considered spam in The eyes of Google+

Anything you create here within WA (blog, discussion, training) can be shared without using its affiliate link because you are the author of said content.

But you must use the affiliate link for all other blogs, discussions and trainings you wish to share when you are not the author of said content.

The process for linking to your WA blogs from your website is the same as linking to some other content. And as far as linking to your WA blog from Twitter or Facebook, just post the link of the blog.

Robert you do an exceptional job of teaching. Yeah I know the online secret and so do you. But I have a question for you. Other than the want or need to help others (the giving back thing) I am always curious as to WHY you and others write quality content, post it here on WA when you could use that same content to propell your own site into the stratosphere? I mean ...

UNLESS you are a network marketer looking to build a loyal following who will join your team call me stupid but I don't see the benefit. Yep I know that posts on WA (blog posts etc) rank higher and faster due to WA's online horsepower BUT ...

IF you would have written all the quality content you posted on WA and instead posted it on your own site have you ever wondered how much better your site may rank now?

Hey, maybe I'm wrong but I'm not a prolific writer. It takes me HOURS even DAYS to write a top quality piece of content so to waste that content on a site that allows me to only sell or promote WA (according to TOS I can't even link to my squeeze page or blog), which means I can't build my list (which is where the big money is really at) just doesn't make sense to me. So ...

Am I missing something?

Good question. I'll bet Robert has an awesome answer though, that we can all learn from.

I do write content for my website, twice as much as I write here. But I look at it this way. Why get all of my referrals from one basket. Why not get them from my website and my WA content? Plus I also have another reason for writing quality content here.

I can place links to these pieces of WA content all over my website and they will NOT be seen as affiliate links by Google, even though they will act just like affiliate links within the WA referral system and give me referral credit for anyone who joins WA from reading my WA content. Got to use all of the referral arsenal that I can. :)

As for training tutorials like these, WA pays members credits for each tutorial created, provided it is a quality piece of content.

AHA! Good point!

This is why some of my blogs, like my most recent one, I will write the content in a way that is talking to non-WA members and will end it with a call to action for them to join WA.
