Changing your blog roll to show Excerpts instead of Full Text and vice versa should be so quick and simple, but as I came to find out there are some themes that you can't do this with and then you need to find another solution.

If you cannot get your blog roll to change this setting you can use the "read more" tag instead.

If you have any questions please leave a comment below :)

My website theme has this issue, and I've been wanting to show the summaries instead of full posts. Thank you for the lesson!

It is a pleasure Janelle - it really is just a pity that you have to do it with every post which is a pain instead of just clicking one setting but this is the best work around I have come across for this issue. While researching how to show excerpts for my cousin I had a load of suggestions which included adding a plugin and doing a lot of extra things for each post... another one was to mess around with the CSS and I managed to find the right code to use but I was then told to use a Child Theme in case anything went wrong which I don't know how to do and messing with the code makes me edgy!

Cool! I will keep this in mind if I ever choose a website theme that has this issue. I use Weaver Extreme and it seems to have all the bells and whistles that I could ever want. It was a hard theme to learn but it's become an old friend after over a year, and two websites both using the same Theme.

I like to try new things so every website I have uses a different theme - but all of them have been fine to get the blog roll excerpts going fine! it was just when I wanted to help my cousin that we hit a snag!

Lynne, I never knew the possibility of the Summary, lol, therefore I always used the "Read More" Tag
Super that you have clarified it for everyone. :)
