Syndicating your content across various Web2.0's and other social sites help this tremendously.

All of the social signals generated from social syndication lets google know that you are relevant and "worthy" of indexing.

You can fetch and render specific URLS through GWT but this method is in a kind of grey area in the sense that some people claim that it can hurt your site while others have claimed no harm has been done and that it helped them get their posts indexed faster.

Personally I choose to use social syndication and I find that I can have a new post indexed within 24 hours of publishing.
