Link to Another Website Using Text

  1. Open the website you want to link to.
  2. Return to your own Post or Page.
  3. Make sure you are in the Visual tab.
  4. Highlight the text you want to use for the hyperlink.
  5. Click on the icon that looks like a chain link.
  6. This opens a tiny popup window.
  7. In your browser select the tab which has the website you want to link to.
  8. Highlight the URL in the address bar, right-click and select “Copy”.
  9. Return to the popup window in your Dashboard.
  10. Click on the gear icon to access Link Options
  11. Right-click in the URL text box and select “Paste”.
  12. Check that the link text is correct
  13. Now place a check mark in the box next to “Open link in a new tab”.
  14. Click on “Add Link” to close the popup window.
  15. Click on “Update” or “Save Draft”.
  16. Click on "Preview Changes" to open up your post/page in a new tab.
  17. Click on the hyperlink you just created.
  18. You’ll see that the URL you linked to now appears.
