• Go to www.picmonkey.com to start editing your picture.

• Select'Design' and under 'Choose Canvas for Your Design', select custom and enter 500x500 pixels (Note: you can choose bigger or smaller pixel size, 500 here is just an example that I feel suitable for our editing purpose).

• You will see a blank canvas like this, with menu bar on the left.

• Now, you are ready to add your picture here. Click on the butterfly icon, then 'Add Your Own', and browse for your picture.

• Select the image that you want to use and hit Enter. Your image will be added to PicMonkey dashboard
• Now, enlarge your photo such that only the head and the upper part of your body are within the canvas (you can enlarge your image by dragging the corner out of the canvas area).
• Here's how it looks like after enlargement.

Now, we are ready to play around with the image.
