Now that you have the WA Nameservers, you can proceed to visit 123-reg.co.uk and log in to your account.

From your Control Panel, make sure that the domain name you want to update is selected from the dropdown menu next to the word Domains.

You can then click on the green button labelled MANAGE

From the Management page of your domain name, you can scroll down to the Advanced domain settings, where you can then click on Change Nameservers (DNS).

From the Nameserver Management page, you can remove all entries from the four (4) nameserver fields, along with adding the two (2) nameservers that you made a note of previously.

You will want to ensure that there are no spaces before or after the nameservers you have added, and also make sure that there is no dot (.) at the end of the nameservers.

Once you have added them both, you can click on the Update button to apply the changes.

DNS changes can take up to 72 hours, however, usually no more than 24 hours and as long as you haven't viewed the website in your browser within the last 24 hours, the change usually only takes a few minutes.

You can now click on the Next Page button below to go to the next step.

Thank you Chrystopher, glad to see this training out there.
You talked me through this a few weeks ago and it worked a treat.
Cheers

You're welcome Gaz, these must have been your screenshots then haha I always save screenshots, so that I can reuse them, so it made sense to make this one public, seeing as I'll mainly be targeting UK residents as my referrals ;-)

Hi Chrystopher, all good here in Cheshire. I'm guessing this is an easy question for you (I read your earlier post today about members contacting you to provide 1-on-1 support). In parallel with WA, I've joined a business mentoring program (reason I'm behind with the WA training!). The program directed me to register a domain with GoDaddy - which I did. I assuming this domain can also be transferred to WA hosting? There was a specific reason behind the request to register with GoDaddy ... so hopefully hosting the domain on WA will not lead to some unforeseen issues. Thanks, Paul

Welcome from the UK Paul :-) and yes, you can change the Nameservers on GoDaddy to point to WA. I would always change Nameservers first, and wait at least 3 days before transferring the domain name to WA.

Cheers Chrystopher .... well noted. I guess you're now based somewhere down in the west country? Paul

Not in the UK, but in the little hamlet of Nowheresville in my bunker in Northern Nevada. That said, great info here Chrystopher, and very useful to a lot of our community. Thanks for posting.

BTW, don't you ever sleep? lol

You’re welcome Greg and I do yes, haha I also work outside of WA, so I’m not always around ;-)
