Something I see asked all the time here at Wealthy Affiliate is new members that want to know how to change pages to posts and posts to pages. This is such a common mistake to make and one that I made too when I first joined WA and built my first websites from scratch.

I have seen so many members suggest that you just copy your page content, create a new post and paste your content in... then go back and delete the page.

There is however a much quicker way to do it and that is using the plugin Post Type Switcher. At the touch of a button you can convert pages to posts or posts to pages.

I hope you have found this helpful :) It certainly saved me from copying over about 15 pages to being posts!

Hi Lynne,
Thank you for the video which you have created on transfering pages to posts which was forwarded to me form the support team in WA. It definitely did save me a lot of worry and time. I just have one more issue although the pages have been identified as posts on my website I am unable to change it on my menu creation page. Kindly advice.
Thanks and regards/Leo

I am confused about this, have you created a menu already and added your links to the posts? Please give me a little more information so I can try and help you with this? If you give me your website link I can have a look so that I understand better.

Hi Lynne,
Thank you for the response to my further query. I am forwarding you my website
details - learnandearnononescamfreesite.com.
The problem is on my menu page the pages that have changed into posts, I am unable to identify them as posts on my menu creation page.

OK so I think what you had previously actually worked better as pages! Those items on your menu - Getting started, Frequently asked questions, About me, Build a website, privacy policy and scam alerts I would actually have all of those as pages and in your menu exactly as they are. I would leave your WA review as a post and leave it in your menu as it is.

All of pages are static content and that is good for pages.

One thing I would change is to have your home page https://learnandearnononescamfreesite.com/ set to be your blog roll and not as a page (Getting Started) and then when you create new blog posts those will be added to your blog roll. You can do this within your website settings. If you want to do that let me know and I will point you to some training :) It is personal preference of course but I always choose a blog roll for my home page.

Hi Lynne,
What you are suggesting to me is its okay if my posts are shown as posts on my website and on the menu page at the backoffice if they are as pages its not an issue.
What do mean byva blog roll as an home page, kindly point me to a training to create the same.
Thanks & regards/Leo

Here is some training that will help you understand blog roll vs a static homepage and then you can decide what you would like to do:

Thanks Lynne, this is really helpful. I actually created nearly all my articles as posts, but then realised after viewing Jay's wordpress training that for some "Evergreen" articles, they're better as pages. So this will make the job much easier.

Here's the link to the training Well worth taking the time to view it.

Thanks again

Hi
One question.
Is there a way to change more than one post or page.
Or do you have to do them one at a time?

I believe they must be done one by one :)

great video!!!
I was not sure what I should use as a post or a page. So I was changing back and forth. I am going to install that plugin and give it try.

Thanks
Tom
