Many wonder how to change a post to a page, or a page to a post, and what I've been seeing a lot of people doing, is just copying their post and pasting it to a page.

Yes you could do that in some cases, for example, if a post had been just published with no comments on it yet.

The reason I say that, is because you can't copy comments from a post to a page.

So what happens if you have comments on a post and you just use the copy and paste method?

You lose all the comments on that post when you paste it to a page.

You don't want to lose any comments whatsoever!

Why?

Because comments are considered content on your site, and Google and other search engines love to see interaction within websites through comments.

This is where the Post Type Switcher Plugin comes into play.
