So ...
As you have seen, is very easy to add a simple search form to a theme which doesn't have a native search feature.
But this awesome plugin has more to offer. So let's see the real magic ... Let's create our own search form.
Go to Ivory Search => Search Forms and click the "Duplicate" link under the default search form:
Or you can choose to edit the existing form directly (without duplicating it).
As you'll see, each search form contains three sections (Includes, Excludes and Options) that provides options to control the functionality of the search form.
Let's see these options ...
The Includes section provides options to control exactly what content the search form should search.
Once you have defined the name of your new form, you can select the post types that you want to make searchable, you can select specific posts you wish to search, you can define searchable custom fields, you can configure your WooCommerce product search options, you can define a given date range, etc, etc:
The Excludes section provides options to control what content the search form should not search or exclude from search:
Finally, the Options section provides a bunch of options to control overall functionality of the search form:
And of course, you'll have to configure the previously mentioned plugin level settings for your newly created form!
OK. Let's move forward to the last lesson where I will show you how to add your newly created, deeply customized search bar to your Wordpress website.
