Thanks for the video, Tim. We all need to be reminded to persevere, be patient, and stay determined. That if we follow the training and work consistently, it will pay off.

I find it interesting that most people quit within the first 6 months and also that most of the money being spent online comes from the US. I would not have guessed either.

Would you say to make the kind of money you make, a person would need to have more than one website or business? And if so, at what point would someone decide to add another website?

My pleasure Lynn.

Not at all, you can make far, far more than I do with one site. Or you could do so with multiple sites. It really depends on your overall strategy.

It's totally up to you what you do, but I recommend focussing on one site at first because trying to run multiple sites before you've had a chance to properly develop your skillset can just make it too difficult as you're spreading your time too thin. So I always recommend focussing on one niche / one site until you're very comfortable with the process and have made some money, then decide to create other sites.

Hope this helps.

I have no plans to add a second site for a while. I think about it sometimes, but I know I'm nowhere ready.

But it's good to hear your perspective and that one doesn't even need to have a second site to make good money. I'm still learning what my strategy will be.

Hi Tim. Great inspirational video. Glad you're doing so well. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

Might already have been asked here, but how many hours a day/week/month were you able to devote to your work at the beginning and do you still put in the same hours?.

Also, did you have an ordinary job as well at the same time when you first started?

Thanks

Anne

Hey Anne,

I put a solid effort in during the early days, can't remember exactly how many hours, but I was doing at least something most days.

The short version of my story is that I went from construction to online business. The longer version is - I decided to shut down my construction business before finding WA because I was completely over it. And from there I ended up studying at uni for a bit, because even though I knew I didn't want a job, I simply didn't know what else to do with my life and I really enjoyed learning new things. But before I got very far into that, I found WA. And it wasn't long from there that I realised how promising it was and eventually dropped out of uni. So I kind of went from construction, to studying full-time while working on my new affiliate endeavor, to doing affiliate marketing full time (lol).

These days I work on my business at least 5 days a week or more. Not because I have to, I could be way more chill with my time than I am, but I have some pretty ambitious goals and I enjoy what I do. You could easily make this a lifestyle business given the time/location freedom and passive income nature of how you earn, but I'm more of a "work hard now, enjoy the rewards later" kind of guy.

So yes, I work hard, and put in just as much (if not more) effort into my business now as I did in the very beginning. But that's a choice, not a necessity. And everyone is different so what sort of hours you put in will depend on you and your goals.

Hope this helps! :)

Thanks for putting this together and posting it; and also for the personal email alerting me to it. First, I have to say that I now feel that I really do have something of a personal connection to you rather than someone that's just downstream receiving automated, scheduled selected emails every month or two.
Second, I made note of all of the responses you had received and looked at when each of those that had responded had joined WA... One person has a 'joined WA' date that is earlier than yours, which I found interesting. The rest of us, eleven including myself, range from brand new to 2yrs, 4 mths, with myself a 4 months.. averaging 10.8 months so most of us are on that early part of the curve with none of us (other than yourself and the one who joined in 2014) having reached 3 years yet...
I have so far received $6.40 credited this past month (9/29) from Amazon, and, of course, like you I was happy to see something.
I enjoyed the video and also the blog post outlining how we need to approach this business and how we need to set our expectations. My next (immediate) goal is to get that $6 to become $60, but you've made me aware that it might another 3 or 4 months, or maybe even another 6 months but you've also assured me that it is possible if I continue to persist.
Thanks
- Ron
p.s. Did you see this recent post of mine from a week or two ago?

Awesome, glad you found it helpful Ron. That was actually the main idea behind me making these videos, I wanted to connect with the folks I work with in a more meaningful and helpful way. So it's great to see you are enjoying these.

Not sure what you mean about the dates.. WA has been around since 2006 I think (somewhere around then from memory) and I joined in October 2015. So there's lots of people here who've joined before me. Not everyone who's commented here is my referral either, this is able to be accessed by the whole community, so maybe that's where the confusion is.

Awesome, so glad to hear you've made your first commissions! These are the first of many to come I'm sure, so keep at it and reach out to me along the way. I have a bunch of great content slated for 2020 and 2021, these videos are just the beginning. I'm going to be getting right into growing your traffic, increasing conversions, and a bunch of other relevant topics about building a successful business.

Thanks for the comment Ron, and talk soon! :)

Hi Tim,
By "all of the responses" I was referring to just those attached to this post, and wasn't too surprised that one of those who had commented was not a newbie and had joined WA a year before you did.
Hope that clears up the confusion.

Thank you very much for the training. My big take away from your video are: Things that pay off take effort. I must be prepared to work hard for six months before I see results. I must have determination and not give up for any reason. Follow the WA training now and it will pay off in spades down the road.
