Hi there, I followed this training but it's not turning into a link on my live site. It's supposed to right? thanks :-) Here's what I have done on my contact page. I would like for the image to be a clickable link if possible :-)

Hey Stefanie,

A website visitor can highlight your email address, right-mouse click, select Copy Email Address and reach out to you that way... or... you can use a mailto tag to make that a live link.

If you want to create a mailto tag you could use the free online generator: https://mailtolinkgenerator.com/ just be sure to insert the HTML characters for YOUR email address as shown above (NO SPACES) so that the email scrapers won't see your email address.

Thanks so much! And yes, I'll definitely use that tag because even I had no idea you could do that to highlight an email address so I'm sure others won't (or maybe it's just me haha) . Anyway, you have been a great help so thank you so much. Have a great Christmas :-)

Did you check what happens when you enter there next time and see the code in text mode? It transforms in the usual symbols. See my steps.

Exactly Jovo, as you would be using HTML code.
Once upon a time, this type of coding was necessary in order to create web pages. And as I explained in the video, the email scrapers look at the code for text symbols to scrape email addresses. When they see HTML they don't the script goes on by it confused.

Where do they see them as a code? The system reverts them back into the usual symbols in Text mode, so they do not exist as a code the way you did it. Go to Text mode and check your examples shown in the video.

Perhaps you could use the following plugin instead: Email Address Encoder by Till Krüss which does the same thing that I show you in video above.
