This training is about setting up an exclusion within the GA4 analytics.

With the changes in All in One SEO plugin and the fact that they have dropped support for google analytics you also lose the ability to exclude yourself from your analytics.

So what do you do now.....

Two choices ...

One... install monsteranalytics plugin and allow them access to your Google analytics account or...

Two ...exclude your IP address from your Google analytics account.....

this works if you have a static ip address, if your is dynamic you will be changing it everytime your IP address changes......

And if your IP changes, unlike the older UA account there is no one filter ...each one is individual now so you will need to change each one if your IP address changes...

I know this as we had to reset our router and out IP address has now changed.....

I need to go through the accounts i have setup a rule in and change the address......

Anyway...watch the video and if you have any questions leave them below

and if you liked the video please click the like button

Many thanks

Hey Phil,

Because my IP address is forever changing, I have found it difficult to obtain the entire list of literally hundreds of IP addresses that my internet provider pushes my connection to on a regular basis.

However, I have "Liked This" and tagged for sharing in the future.

Thanks Trish...
you are one of the ones better of using hte monsterinsights - where you can exclude logged in admins from analytics....
it was better when it was in all in one but it has disappeared
i think it is in yoast
but not rank math...
we had a power cut last night so i have got to go back through and change a few now......

well if you don't want to be counted then you need to exclude yourself
it used to be very easy - tick a box in aio and done
now you need to install monster insights which is just overkill for that or do this ...
it is a shame it has got so complicated ....
good luck

Would you be able to set up an exclusion in the property view section. of GA. I seem to recall seeing this idea in one of the GA training modules.

i think that maybe in the old version
before ga4 you could add a filter to the filter menu in the first column and that would be good
but having a poke around apparently that doesn't work in the new ga4 accounts ...so here is the training for the ga4 accounts....
thanks for the feedback Dan

Why is this so important to do?

Because you don't want to falsify your stats by seeing all of your own requests, as it will not show true visitor engagement, as you are accessing your own website all day every day.
