4. How to Get the Adsense Code from Google Adsense

First you need to sign up with the Google Adsense program. You can do that here google.com/adsense

Make sure you fill out all the info correctly, just a small mistake will delay your payments from Google. Their is no customer service so it will take time to resolve any problems, yes I had problems getting my first paycheck but since that it has been working fine.

When you have your account set up you click ”my ads” and then ”new ad unit”. This will take you to the form where you customize your ad unit, fill out the information what kind of ad unit that you want and then click ”Save and get code”.

Should you use text ads or banner ads? I have tried both and have best luck with the text ads. I think we are kind of ”imune” to the banners, banners look cool but I have not had good luck with them. Someone might have a different oppinion about this and you should try for yourself and see what gives you the best result.

You copy your code and paste it into the area on your wordpress blog, where you want your Adsense unit.

To make things easier, when you have a lot of posts and pages it can be a mess to keep track of the codes especially if you want to change anything, there are helpful Adsense plugins that can help you with this.

Hello,
You do not need different code for each ad. Feel free to PM me the site and I can take a look. If you want to email me the code I can take a look at that as well...

It usually takes a few minutes for the ad to "go live"...

Is the Adsense account still good? You can start "earning" before all details are squared away, you might want to make sure the account is still valid.

the keywords you choose in the CPC/traffic/competition section, those are for ranking your site right? and google will automatically assign ads for that keyword? or do you also tell google the keywords when you create the ad?

That is correct, the keywords is for ranking my site and Google will assign ads for the content on my site.

so i had a few keywords that jaaxy was saying were 500 or so searches and less than 100 QSR (pretty good) but the same kw on google's kw tool says "high" competition, what would you do in this situation? I trust jaaxy's results will let me rank for that KW, wheareas google's competition is more referring to adwords competition

I took all my adsense ads off my sites because I thought they might take people away from my sites but I missed the checks so put them back on some site and will probably have them on all the sites before it is over. I haven't finished reading your article. More tomorrow. John

The trick, as always, is to be able to get it to be #1, so keyword selections is important. I've also found out that people in the last stages of buying don't click on the adsense ads on my sites. People in the earlier stages do.

I've found out, for me, anyway, sites built around: how to kind of keywords get me more clicks. My click through rates on my best adsense site based on late buying cycle stages has a click through rate of 3-4%. My best one built on keywords people use in the earlier stages of they buying cycle gets me 9-11%, one month it got me 5% (which is still higher than 4).

Nice one, Veronica.

You are right, number 1 keyword is what we want. We need volume, lots of traffic to these sites. It also help when you work with niches that have high CPC (cost per click), but don`t underestimate the niches with low CPC though, lots of traffic can add up.

Just an example, I checked the average CPC and CTR (click through rate) this year on my Adsense sites:

I have one site with a CTR of 21%, CPC is only $0.10 but it still bring me some good money with that high CTR.

I have another site with a 2,27% CTR but the CPC is $3,27 so that brings in some good money too.

Thanks for adding this, think I will have to add this to the training.

This will help people get started making money more quickly, I personally creating an adsense site is a lot less intimidating. So I think its good for beginners. Just supply information, don't even think of selling anything.
