Amazon is discontinuing two SiteStripe facilities that were previously available to Amazon affiliates. They are the affiliate code for Image and Text+Image. They will no longer be available on the SiteStripe bar from December 1, 2023 and any existing links will stop working from December 31, 2023.

This video examines the ramifications of this change, what it means to you and what you need to do about it.

It's the first of two videos on this subject.

Hi! I saw the images missing only recently and would need to change for many of my posts :( I wanted to restart doing what I did before and now feeling a bit of disappointed like giving up and trying another affiliate program.
Strangely as an Amazon affiliate I missed that message from them :(
Thanks for the video! :) I have a lot of work to be done with those images.

AA joined forces with Meta vs their affiliates. But I hear you.

Yes, the Image and Text+Image links stopped working in early January. I'm trying to get Lasso working on my demo site but it's taking a long time. I'm in contact with their Support. I'll be trying other plugins as well. Sorry it's taking so long.

Thanks for the video! I regret ever going with Amazon. Seemed easier to do so at that time and now I should replace all links, delete those broken photos, and go without them or something :(
When I finally wanted to be more serious about my blogging and all, this is really discouraging :(

Don't be sorry, thanks for doing it :)

There will be any number of affiliate vendors in your niche who are much better to promote than Amazon.

I know, seemed easier at that time.

Hello any tips for getting the first 3 sales? Think I only have a month left with 0 authorised sales.

Hi - you need to get 3 sales within 180 days, and you get a warning at 90 days.

To be honest, most people join Amazon too early before their website is getting regular traffic.

You can reapply to the program and will be accepted but with a new ID.

So, all your previous links will need to be replaced.

Exactly the same as any product. Find your target audience and promote products they want (or need) to them. Be trustworthy.

Fortunately, there are search and replace plugins to do that.

Content. I would add more informational content to drive organic traffic.

Phil, I was watching a video on Youtube about this topic that mentioned that once you get your access key and secret key, it takes 48 hours for your API account to be activated. Interesting! I wonder if that's why you were having trouble?

No, Marlaine. It's actually 72 hours and that wasn't the issue. You can't use the PA-API unless you've made sales in the past 30 days. This isn't widely published by Amazon.

Good to know. I applied and was accepted (I have daily sales, so that isn't the issue)... after the 72 (not 48) hours pass, hopefully it'll work fairly seamlessly... crossing my fingers!

I hope so for your sake, Marlaine. Please keep us updated. My concern here is that your PA-API requests could stop working whenever your credits fall to zero. Amazon support were unable (or unwilling) to clarify this for me.
