What is a Google+ #Hashtag?
A Google Plus hashtag is fairly similar to those on Twitter and Facebook, however there are a few differences.
Hashtags are important and very useful inside Google Plus. They are a sort of metadata tag that help you find Posts and Organize Posts that use them.
If they are promoted by enough people and attract more users into the discussion, they can cause a "trend". Popular hashtags often end up becoming "trending topics".
But use them with caution! Why?
Because, if for any reason you start to believe that most or all of your posts are important to others, you could be in for a rude awakening. They can ‘mute’ you, and if this happens, it's like being ‘blocked’ on Facebook.
Dispel any idea of self importance - and try to maintain a good relationship with others in the community!
