Can You Share Cons of Wealthy Affiliate?

I'm in the 4th week of my stay as a Premium Member of WA. Unlike many others, I started out without enjoying the free 7 days and the $19 first month privilege. Nevertheless, I didn't mind it. So far I'm enjoying what I'm seeing despite my limited time here.

..."Limited" means I could only get my hands into WA for about a couple of hours a day in average (there were days to have none at all, but there were some greater days as I could hang out for about 6 accumulated hours in weekends or dawn).

As I build my site to promote WA, one thing that would hinder me is to spell out the WA Cons. No problem with the PROs as there are thousands of great things about WA to talk about.

Thus, I'm wondering if we can list the Cons here for 2 reasons.

1. To have an additional source of Wealthy Affiliate CONs that would make you sound as open as possible, but not to the extent of damaging WA.

2. To fix some issues within WA that members would wish to be rectified soon

3. To immediately correct perceived Cons (that are actually not).

Aside from "information overload" and/or "too many quality contents..." that many of us normally write, I have a few things that I think should be in the list of WA cons.

When I searched "WA Cons", I saw only dj-drea's blog to have WA cons.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/dj-drea/blog/wealt...

Thus, I'd like to add a few of my own experiences in my first month. I hope beginners and skilled members alike would somehow find value here.

1. Some countries (Philippines, India, Vietnam, etc.) couldn't enjoy the 7-day Free Access and $19 first-month payment. I'm not sure why but I hope this can improve. It's quite hard really to invite my fellow Filipinos and neighboring countries as my articles that say they can try it for free for 7 days will never be applicable to them. That's what I felt then.

2. As mentioned by Andrea, the 2 free websites are subdomains of siterubix. Though I didn't find it very irritating as I had no intention to create subdomain sites, it could be for some who may be expecting websites that they can brand to be theirs.

3. Keyword Lists are not updated. It could have been more refreshing to see 2015 or 2016 PDF files. Even though there are only 100 in each, the beginners may directly or indirectly benefit from them.

4. Not all Top Achievers would respond to PMs. I've had 2 or 3 queries directed to 2 different Top 200 guys, but didn't get replies. Probably they're too busy, but still hoping one day they will.

5. Trainings are forbidden for new members unless they've celebrated their 3rd month. Some members may have unique skills that are beneficial for the WA community but the latter just have to wait for 3 months before they can hear what the new members have to say. I fully respect this though. In fact, I haven't watched all the trainings yet (I do have a limited time, remember?).

If you'll ever use any of these CONs (and probably below's inputs) in your site or elsewhere, you just have to be as creative as possible. And if you think these are not supposedly Cons, pls. help me understand why.

Meanwhile, can you also share your CONs of Wealthy Affiliate?

Thank you.

Hi, Jojo.

I just found you today and have been reading your posts.

In the first comment to this one, Dennis (DreamN) said: "I was able to utilize the trainings right away. I didn't need to wait for 3 months."

I suspect he misunderstood:
"5. Trainings are forbidden for new members unless they've celebrated their 3rd month."

You meant new members couldn't MAKE training, but I believe Dennis thought you meant they couldn't TAKE training.

I'm in the US, joined WA in July 2016, and had to wait three months before I could make training.

I understand your point of the waiting period being a possible con, but I agree with it and am glad it's in place.

You're right: "Some members may have unique skills that are beneficial for the WA community..." But, many members, myself included, arrive(d) here knowing nothing about internet marketing, affiliate marketing, promoting their businesses, WordPress, or how to build a website.

If new members were allowed to make training right away, I think the low or no-value "training" made by the many would bury the valuable training made by the few.

I wish WA members had to wait three months to get a WA affiliate ID. To me - and this is just my personal opinion, which may not be shared by anyone else and isn't a criticism of WA - allowing people to promote a platform they don't understand is a con.

I researched WA a long time before joining. I read many reviews and many of them were very badly done. After just a few hours of research, it was obvious to me I'd learned more about WA than many of the people who had written reviews for it had.

Most of the badly-written WA reviews have two things in common. They make it seem making money online will be:
1. fast
2. easy

When those misinformed referrals come here and find out making money online is neither fast nor easy, they give up without ever discovering how amazing WA's training and community are.

The common newbie question: "Should I take the [Getting Started] lessons or the Bootcamp first?" is a dead giveaway that person arrived here through a poorly-written WA review.

I have a question for you: were you given the option to pay the premium membership monthly, or only yearly?

Sharon

Hi Sharon!

Thanks for dropping by.

I haven't gone to WA for quite some time now.

I do have monthly and yearly options (I took the Yearly recently) but there were no options for us (from the Philippines and other selected countries) for a free 7-day trial.

Thanks for commenting. Got your point as well.

How are you on your journey?

By the way, you can PM me anytime.

Thanks!

Hi, Jojo, thanks for answering my question and for the invitation to PM you: I appreciate it!

I'm progressing slowly, but I'm progressing, so that's wonderful. Thank you for asking.

I watched both the training videos you posted on WA and "liked" each. They were informative and fun to watch.

I hope all is well with you!

Sheesh, 5;30 am here, you're the first post I read. My brain doesn't really hit into high gear until my second coffee :)

Wish you had asked about the pros of WA, I wouldn't of had to think!
But coming up with the cons of Being at WA?
Hmmmm, let me think...
Naw, my brain just can't work that hard, this early in the morning :P
Sorry JoJo, I'll keep it in mind, who knows, maybe I'll come up with something a little later :)
Have a wonderful day
Joseph

Thanks Joseph! It's ok. The Pro's are just too many actually..

Hear from you again soon..

I had no idea that some countries are not given the 7-days free and 19 first month. What is the reason for that? That would be pretty awful if someone saw my WA promotion on FB and they are from one of those countries and I am pushing stuff they can't even have! My only con besides the one just mentioned is that some of the training is out of date and the versions of the plugins, etc. change but the training is not changed to reflect the new version.

Hi Barbara!

In fairness, I was informed prior to becoming a member. It's just that it's not that fair. I hope this'll change so people in these countries will be able to try WA for 7 days and feel the climate inside.

Thanks!

Jojo

Hi! One of the cons you listed wasn't a con for me. I was able to utilize the trainings right away. I didn't need to wait for 3 months.
Cons:
There have been times that I've listed a question and received no response, but I didn't ever try to PM any top 200's, I just put it out there.
Some of the trainings are not up to date with the thing they are training about, but in this fast-paced technological age, I think that is understandable and forgivable.
There was an issue with the rating system for a little while. I was rated in the 400's, then the next day I had jumped back up to over 900, but that didn't really bother me because I thought that I had achieved the 400's level much too quickly.

That's about all I can think of. My e-mail box that I set up for WA is always stuffed full of messages that I don't have time to completely go through, but I would actually list that as a Pro because it shows the healthy activity of WA and it's awesome community.

Thanks for putting this out there!
Dennis

Hi Dennis!

I'm surprised to know that you can do trainings any time. I'm guessing that this is another thing that WA should also look into. I hope some of us are not deprived of anything here as we all pay the same price as a member.

Anyway, as mentioned, this isn't a big deal for me for now as I have yet to complete some trainings. It's just that some of those that I'm capable of doing can only be shared after my 3rd month. I guess it's the same as the others.

Thanks!

Jojo
