My First Post
I checked out Wealthy Affiliate about four years ago. I was keen but I guess life just managed to get in the way. I finally signed up on the 13th March this year. My first question is 'Where has the time gone?'
I could see the value in this gathering rather quickly and I signed up for the year within the first month. I figured a bloke would just have to give it at least a year to see what he can do. From what I have read of the goals of a lot of people here, for many of us, there is no alternative but to succeed.
It has taken me nearly two months to finish Level 2 of the Certification course. I feel as if I have learnt a lot in that time. I have read a book or two on SEO but you cannot go past the hands on practical exercises if you want to learn a skill. I had no idea how to utilize Google+ but I feel more comfortable with it now.
To follow the steps of Level 1 of the course, I started working on a new site 'Mind Guitar'. I purchased the domain years ago but did not know where to start with it. It was good to finally do something with the domain name. It has inspired me to pick up the guitar again which is great.
I have also managed to transfer over an old site 'Buildings For Sale' over to WA. This was done with the help of the staff at WA. There was a little misinformation floating around about this process but we managed it in the end. I do enjoy writing pages and posts on this theme.
As I mentioned in the Introduction I wrote at the beginning of the course, I have a very good reason for doing this and every time I hit a snag or come across an obstacle, I just have to re-focus on the goal. I have told my son what I have planned so there is no alternative but to continue.
My next goal is to work through and complete Level 3 of this course and apply what I learn to the sites mentioned and a commerce site of a dear friend of mine.
It is such a good experience working so closely with so many like minded people. I know if I have a question that there will be someone there to answer it, if they have not already done so in the FAQ section. I just want to say 'thank you' to you all.
