Making Money?

I started this WA membership with high motivation and much enthusiasm. I am really enjoying all the new friends and engaged in this environment.

I just wonder? At what point in the training do people tend to start seeing results? (financially)

I wonder how many members are actually making a living?

I am asking, are any of you able to live off your internet earnings and how long did it take you to start making money? I know it depends on the effort you put in and each individual is different.

For example, is everyone in the top rankings making money?

I just wonder if anyone is willing to share their specific story of success?

This is probably the most-asked question here, and with good reason. I mean, we all came here to be "wealthy" affiliates, right?

What "wealthy" means is different to each person, and, unfortunately, the speed at which you get there is also different for each person.

When I joined a little over a year ago, people were saying it takes on average 6 months to a year. I didn't really work at it very hard at the beginning. In fact, I pretty much walked away for several months due to various other things I had going on. I came back at the end of October 2016 (which is why I usually say I have been here about 8 months, despite my 1-year badge) and have been here actively since.

Since coming back and becoming more serious, I have found that it is much more common to estimate a year to 18 months before you start to get rolling. This varies of course on how much time and effort you put in, how "teachable" you are, how consistent you are, and whether you truly follow the course or try-- as some people do-- to "improve" upon it, or tailor it to yourself.

Don't do that.

Follow the course, exactly. Do just what you are taught. Be consistent, follow through and have faith and patience. You would not build a physical business and expect it to be making money hand over fist in 2 months.

WA is awesome and the community is amazing, but don't get caught up "hanging out" here. If you are in live chat all day and then put in 20 minutes of work on your site, you haven't worked at your business "all day." You've worked at it for 20 minutes. It is very tempting to chat, to post here, to read blogs... but that doesn't do anything at all for your business, unless you are learning something that you then spend time putting into effect.

Enthusiasm will come and go. What is far more important is determination. You have to decide that you are going to do this (because you can) even when--especially when-- you just don't feel like it.

You will probably find that most people will not tell you how much they are earning. That's not because they are hiding anything, but would you approach someone where you work and ask the same thing? For most people, it is private. And if someone did tell you "hey, yeah... I earn $25,000 a month!" would you believe them?

I do understand that it's nice to see success stories. I love them too. I need motivation just like everyone else. When I do, I often review this post: Hang in there. This is not the easiest thing in the world to do, though the greatest difficulty probably comes from how many of us defeat ourselves before we have a chance to succeed.

All the best you.

Thank You so much. What a great reply. I will stick to it. I have been wanting to do this for 15 years. I have tried on and off.
Your answer would make a great post for everyone to see.
I appreciate you.

ok, ok. :) perfect come back, loved it. Yes I will continue to put forth the work and effort, because I really want and need this to work. And I feel that I have learned too much to turn back, and for the most part I am really enjoying it, it may take me awhile but I keep searching for ways around, up, or even under those dang walls I seem to run into. And agree keeping with the course makes a difference.

You can do this!
If I can help with anything, let me know!
Just... keep in mind I'm still learning, too! :D

Awesome! You are definitely able to do this. As long as you know how to follow the course, then you can do it. If you ever get stuck, ask for help. There's no shortage of people (myself included) willing to help.

The absolute hardest part is staying focused and keeping at it when you want to quit.

Craig,

Thanks for answering. Well done. I enjoyed reading your reply.

Thank you.
I know that this is the primary concern for a lot of people and I also know that many people give up before giving it a proper chance, so I really want to see them hang in there and tough it out until the good stuff starts happening.

Actually this post amongst a few others kick started it for me.

I'm mindful of my time. I have to be. I can really waste a lot by just doing, but not. I have content and it probably needs a lot of adjustments. I've been wanting to start over again, but it's not happening. Not really sure what the phycology behind that excuse is, but either way, it's on.

I'm ready now. So, here I go.

Thanks, Craig and tinyfarmlady for posting.

I keep reading about success on here. It may take a while, but it is a legitimate and good program. Just stick to the training. I will too.
May we still be talking a year from now and our bank accounts be flourishing!!!

Wow, Craig!

I don't know if you are an author or not, but if you aren't, you should give it some thought. Seriously.

Excellent response. You could also be a life coach. Awesome!

Linda

Thank you!
I do write, but usually fiction. Been writing stories since I was about 5. I love writing.
Aside from that, though, I love seeing people be successful and happy.

Like I said, "Life Coach." :)

Linda

I've learned that this is a subject not easily shared by many of the community's most successful. Part of the problem may be that there is a wide range for the meaning of success among the members.

I have often felt the word "wealthy" in the WA name might be some of the problem. I was put off by this word when I first ran into WA. The word felt a little spammy to me.

Will all members become "wealthy" by doing the training and developing a website or two? No.

Will some members make a full time living from their marketing efforts? Yes. Of this group did they start WA as newbies? Not likely.

Have some members started WA as newbies and gone on to earn a decent income? Yes. What is the most common attribute that led to this level of success? An ability to keep at and not give up. They keep learning and doing.

Success stories can provide the inspiration to do that ... to keep learning and doing. Craig below has found one of the best lists of success stories put together by Grace (aka. littlemamma). Affiliate marketing is simple ... but it's not easy.

Excellent advice Dennis!

Great encouragement.

Thank You!

There use to be a saying in business, "build it and they will come." Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. There is a need not only to build it but market it, promote it and upgrade it. I have not made any money yet, because I have not put in the time and effort required, other commitments. I plan to make a better effort in promoting my website and monetizing it over the next few months. I would learn all that you can about this business and put all into promoting and marketing your niche Melissa. It takes anywhere from two to three years for any business to start getting really noticed, especially if you are not sales savvy.

I too am becoming disenchanted. I feel I have been working pretty hard on my site, and hitting some road blocks, although, I keep working at it hoping that it"ll all pay out in the long run. I also look forward to seeing some success stories. Thank you for the question. The best to us all!

Hi babylee, my name is Judy and I am a brand new WA. enjoyed your post. Could you tell me how you decided on your Niche and how you produced your first website? Does that question make any sense? Thank you babylee. Thanks, jsluppick1

Hi Judy, I too am fairly new at WA. As far as picking a niche, it needs to be something that you are passionate about, which makes it easy to write content, do research on and so on.
And as far as building a web site, all you need to do is follow the course, and the lessons. And always remember that there is always someone there to help you out, including myself.
Hoping this is helpful and the best of luck to you!

Good questions.

I`m new to this - a couple of months and not generating much revenue yet, but I did not expect to. My expectation was to be able to build something for the long haul that would generate revenue.

I believed it would take at least a year if not longer because I have a lot of learning to do, applying, promoting, writing, research, tweaking etc. to do to get sites to the point where the Traffic will generate sales.

I see my success to date from the learning that I have accomplished as well as the opportunity to learn more to help generate income in the future.

I started with WA 1 month ago. I too was very motivated. However, now I feel a little disappointed. I have seen a lot of other websites through COMMENTS which are very good (much better than mine, I'm thinking). I have enjoyed writing articles and designing my website. I am beginning to learn that perhaps my website may be too general. Plus, I struggle with how to add my affiliate advertiser with the free version of the website. Therefore, I am not making money. So, I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I need someone to advice me to what I should do next.

You should definitely post this question for everyone in the questions section. We all need to know this.
How do I add my affiliate advertiser to my siterubix site?

My site is making money, but it's not very much right now and definitely not anywhere near a livable income. It took me quite awhile for my site to start earning money with a great majority of it coming from Google AdSense.

I've been here 3 years now and I didn't start earning anything until my 2nd year, but that is mainly due to myself as I was not always consistent with posting and going through the training slowly. I am earning income faster than I did last year and I got my first two affiliate sales this year already so it is definitely a change from what has happened last year.

No. It does not mean than when your rank is at top 100, top 50, your site is already earning. To others who are technically advanced and who are already Internet Marketers before they come at WA sure their sites are earning.

Me now rank at top 50 is still learning how to crack the income generating system.

Thank you, I know this will take time, I was just hoping it is really possible.

That's my hope too and I'm really determined to see that in the near future.

The enthusiasm can run dry after a couple months if you haven't made any money yet, but this is normal. It can take months to a year for Google to trust your site and show it the love it deserves. You gotta just keep going, that is the only way to succeed. Try to fight off the negative thoughts and just believe in this stuff. Because is certainly does work!. You just got to get over the hurdle. I make lots of sites and the first few months are always slow!

First of all, ranking within WA is to do with how much engagement you show with the community. Eg answering questions writing blogs etc. It has no relationship to monetary gain/success

Second of all. the time frame really depends on the person doing the site. I have been here for 5 months and not made a penny, other have been here 2 months and already have engh signups to pay their monthly membership.

I think personally, it depends on how much time you can dedicate to the training ad building out of your site as well as your focus. By which I mean, do not get side tracked by the minutiae of affiliate marketing, which can be addressed much later down the line.

Thank You,
I keep getting distracted participating in discussions.
I need to focus more on my sites.
I think I just get overwhelmed trying to write content.
My goal this weekend is to write, write, write!

Hey Melissa! I too have found that it's very easy to get wrapped up in the WA community. It's so easy to get distracted since everyone is so helpful and supportive. The quality of the posts make you want to read more.

I'm now dividing my computer time into blocks. I'm allotting a specific time frame for certain activities. The things I'm splitting my time with now are community discussions, training, research(check out other sites), content writing and building my website. For example, I have about 45 minutes in the morning before I begin my work day. I take time to read and respond to posts and set an agenda for what training I want to work on for the day. I also do a quick brainstorming activity for writing content. This allows the ideas to brew in my head for the rest of the day. I'm constantly making quick notes through out the day on the ideas that I came up with in the morning. At lunch I have another 5 - 15 minutes. Mostly I respond to posts and check out the Activity Dashboard. I have bigger blocks of time available after work. This is when I concentrate on training, writing content and working on my website.

Best of luck to you with figuring out what works best for you!
SM

its so easy to get distracted isnt it. I am very good at procrastinating and so focus is a massive task for me also! Good luck with the writing
