Hello Everyone
As you all know, consistency is key in any business. Small consistent actions add up and that's what builds momentum.
But recently, I showed up for work online even when I wasn't feeling well. Even though, I could have taken the day off, I didn't Today, I want to talk about my recent experience and why I showed up despite being sick.
Let's dive in
What Happened Recently?
Over the last few weeks, I have been doing a lot of work on my new MMO business. I show up and work most days and only take a day or two off each week for rest and to avoid burning out.
A typical day when I'm working sees me,
- 1. Wake up
- 2. Use the bathroom
- 3. Brush my teeth
- 4. Eat breakfast
- 5. Come online and check social media and email
- 6. Log in to Wealthy Affiliate and check notifications
- 7. Reply to any comments or messages I received while I was asleep
- 8. Spend a few hours working on my business
- 9. Hang out on WA for an hour or two at the end of the day
- 10. Have dinner
- 11. Wind down with TV, YouTube or on occasion a book
- 12. Go to bed
That's what my typical work looks like on days that I'm working.
But about a week ago things went a little differently.
I've had a cold for the last few weeks but then suddenly one Friday night I got quite sick. I couldn't stop coughing or sneezing and I was awake for a while before I finally fell asleep.
I just finished work for the day when that happened. I was working on my first pillar post for my new MMO business.
The next day I woke up feeling a bit better but still not that well. I wasn't coughing or sneezing as bad nor did I have a bad headache anymore.
But I still didn't feel that well and didn't really feel like working.
I probably should have taken the day off. But I didn't, I showed up anyway and I got my pillar post finished and published.
Why Is Showing Up Important?

Before I explain why I showed up even when I was sick, I want to go over why showing up regularly is so important.
Consistency is key to success in any business and that means showing up regularly. If you put out content once per week that's fine but only doing it once per month is not good.
The less you show up, the less results you will see.

A good business is active regularly and consistently publishing new content.
Without consistency you will
- - Have no direction
- - Have issues with traffic and ranking
- - Have a hard time attracting an audience
And much more. But if you remain consistent, you'll find it much easier to build your business. It's the key to success and every small action you take matters.
At least once per week you should be
- - Publishing new content
- - Responding to comments and messages
- - Interacting with like-minded people in your niche
If you can be active and do this more than once per week, that's great but keep the momentum going no matter what.
Small actions add up and that's what builds momentum and leads to progress and better results over time.
So, if you want to build a successful business show up, take action and put in the work. Your business won't build itself and only you can create the future and success you want.
Why I showed Up Even Though I Was Sick
Now that you understand consistency and why showing up matters, I'm going to explain why I showed up even when I was sick.
I believe in working hard for your money and I didn't want to let being sick stop me.
Yes, I was coughing, sneezing and felt weak that day but I wanted to get that important pillar post done.
Now you might be thinking, Timothy why on earth didn't you take the day off and rest?
Well, the short answer is because I didn't want to let my illness get in the way of work.
But the long answer is, I made myself a promise a few weeks ago. I won't make excuses or let anything get in the way of me not showing up for work unless it really matters.
So that's exactly what I did. I showed up, got the work done and even got my pillar post finished and published on my website.
I tell people all the time, remain consistent, don't make excuses and show up even when it's hard.
So, this time I did exactly what I preach. I lived one of my core messages and even AI was proud of me.
Most people don't do what I did that day. But it's going to benefit me in the long run. Not only did I get an important post done, I proved to myself I can show up as much as I want and I can stop things getting in the way.
Obviously, if I was even sicker than I was I would have taken the day off. I'd never try to work if I genuinely couldn't
But that day I felt I could do it, so I did.
I'm sharing this show you what's possible if you really try.
You can do it! You can stop the excuses and refuse to let things get in the way just like I did.
That's what I did, and I encourage others to do as well. Keep going even if you don't feel like working. There will be days when things get tough even if you're not sick.
If you don't feel like showing up, show up anyway and you'll thank yourself later.
Conclusion
In conclusion, consistency is key to success in any business and that means showing up regularly whether you want to or not.
I stopped letting things get in the way, I showed up even when I was sick and I lived my own message.
Small consistent actions add up and that's what builds momentum which leads to progress and real results over time. So, if you get anything out of this blog post, I want to you leave knowing you can become as successful as you want to be but that requires showing up even when you don't feel like it.
