Just optimised my site!
I recently discovered that my site was slower than 78% websites tested on this popular website speed checker tool, which is bad because Google penalises you if you have a slow site.
I found that the main cause was all my images as I hadn't been optimising them by reducing their size- they should be under 100KB and many of mine were like 600KB and some even a few MB.
So I optimised all my images which took a while and then got rid of some plugins which were slowing my site down a bit.
Now it's way faster!! On the speed checker it now says that my website is faster than 77% of websites tested on it, which is great!

Yeah unfortunately I don't have the aid of a health bar to know if my site has too many plugins or something, as my site isn't hosted on WA, but at least I've fixed it now...
Yeah someone else told me this. I think that's a bit stupid to be honest, I have 27 active plugins on my site! And it's running decent speed now.. I'm pretty sure a bit more than 5 is ok, lol
Hi Tim, I Think you don't use the good software for pc and for your future customer. That's my advice. I won't use never your software for Pc. Why, because I repar a pc with 513 virus. My customer has uploaded : optimizer, speed optimizer and others. You do what you want.
You can use W3 cache plugin for your site
I'm confused... don't use what software?
Yeah, I really want to use W3 cache but my site is hosted on GoDaddy and they don't allow that plugin for some reason, so I guess I can't use it unless I switch hosts..

What else may cause my website to be slow? I did mine & I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Lol
Hosting. But if you're hosting on WA, it shouldn't be an issue. Too many plugins. Jetpack is a plugin that made my site EXTREMELY slow :\
I don't really know any others. The theme you're using will also effect the site speed, depending on how it's been coded.
Ok cool. I wold need someone more experienced in that field to look at my site and/or stats to see what may be sowing it down.
