My Ebook Is Out!

I'm so happy! I finally finished and posted my e-book on Amazon. It's young adult nonfiction reading passages with vocabulary and comprehension questions. It's titled "15 Traditional and Modern Powerful Women In History: Reading Passages."

This summer, I took the summer off from teaching to work on my online business. And I'm so glad I did it.

When I signed up for Wealthy Affiliate a year ago, I was going through the process of changing hosting for my blog, and that's why I signed up for Wealthy Affiliate. I loved the idea of getting hosting with an added support of help. I started looking into affiliate marketing once I signed up for Wealthy Affiliate, but as the year has progressed, I've started to think affiliate marketing won’t be my main focus. I think I will focus on writing e-books and getting subscribers and followers through my books. Once I get a decent following, I might consider affiliate marketing, but I would only want to do a few companies.

I also tried a few different things that weren't for me that much. I did some printables, but I think that’s an oversaturated market right now. And I’m looking into Amazon FBA, but I won’t touch that until I really know what I’m doing.

But after sitting around and thinking what direction I wanted to take my online business in, I finally thought you’ve been writing, making lesson plans for years, and you love reading. Why not just put an E-book out?

It was crazy how easy it was to create the ebook when I simply had time to figure it all out. I took a little separate course on how to make an e-book, and that broke down everything so simple for me. And I used work I had previously been selling on Teachers Pay Teachers and re-worded it and adjusted it so that it’s more of a book than a lesson plan.

Since it’s for young adults, I reached out to some of my friends and colleagues and sent out free copies so that I can get some reviews. And (even though I was told not to use Fiverr because they’re too cheap) I used Fiverr for my book cover, pictured above. I paid $30 for that book cover, and I am absolutely in love with it. She completely captured what I wanted it to look like. I also got very cheap advertising for the book on Amazon and BookHub.

And several of my friends have read the book already and liked it, so they’re recommending it to their friends that have kids that might like the book.

Now, I’m working on a longer book for young adults to give them advice on how to survive their freshman year of high school. There aren’t a lot of those books out there for high school. They’re all about college. And I definitely found something that I’m passionate about, because I just started that book a few days ago, and I’m already at 30 pages. I think it could absolutely be a seasonal bestseller when the school year starts.

I just had to share it with the world! I have an ebook published, and I know that no one will really understand my sentiments better than the WA community!
