Black History Month and Women's History Month
Teacher Rant: So today, we had the annual Black History Month showcase at the school. Like always, everything was put on me, from the daily facts to having the students practice for the showcase. Today was extremely stressful. After putting so much stress on me, they still dropped the ball on the few things that they needed to do. The event turned out to be an overall success, but I will never allow anyone else to tie me up into these types of activities if there they can't assist. This is also the reason I'm ready to move to California. The education system here is the absolute worst and it's very overpopulated, making it extremely difficult for classroom teachers.
Printables: I'm actually doing great with the printables. I have started to make some reading comprehension passages in celebration of Women's History Month in March. I've already made 3 so far - Angela Basset, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Ketanji Jackson. I've even successfully posted them to Etsy and Teachers Pay Teachers. I think I'm going to well with this because I still have so many ideas that are untapped in the educational market - poems for students of color, organizers that can be used for reading support, and more seasonal printables (like national poetry month in April). I'm going to try to make 31 printables for Women's History Month - 1 for each day of March. The singles will be 1.99 and once I'm done, the full bundle will be worth $20.00.

I have always had great respect for teachers. My sister and brother-in-law are teachers and I listen to them talk about some of the things they deal with.
Not all negative, of course, but they try to be objective and positive about the changes they see in teaching.
I say all this because my hat's off to you for being a teacher in the first place and all you have to juggle. It sounds like you have to find a way to convey ideas in your classroom on your own sometimes.
You have to get creative. I respect what you do. I admire what you do. I wanted you to know that. I am aware of some the issues you face. I'm on your side simply because you're a teacher.
Thank you so much. Teaching is so rewarding, but it's often a thankless job. And it's becoming very political.
I just love the students so much. It's the adults I'm done with.

Nicely put Tia!
I used to love teaching in schools as well, but these days, I find it more trouble than it's worth...
Great going on your printables though my friend and all the very best for the future!
