What do I have to offer WA

Hi everybody, I just want to let you know how I am getting on as a member of WA. I am still learning how things work on the site, such as commenting, liking and blogging. I know I am a bit slow to get into the community action but. There is always a “but”. However, one of the main reasons why I have been slow to respond to people is because I am still learning how to use the site. I am on level 3 now and find writing articles a challenge.

I do not know how other people feel on WA but sometimes I feel like I have not much to offer here. Writing the “about me” article was like looking into a desert when I tried to recall my past experiences. I believe they call this writers block or something.

I work in structural engineering consulting for over forty years and the experience I gained seem sterile on WA. Not many people want to know about rebar for concrete etc.

But I have look past all of that and know there are many things which I know and love that people always want to know about. I love gardening, heath physical and mental, I like to practice mindfulness.

So, there it is, I think my next article will be about mindfulness.

All the best.

Hi Thomas, You will have the hang of it. Just keep going.

Thomas, your about me page will improve over time as you get the hang of writing more. When I first started out, my about me page was horrible. I still cringe to this day at how shoddy it was.

BUT, over time I had a lot of people contact me, informing me that they felt like I was someone on "their level" so that were more comfortable asking me for help with things they could not comprehend for that particular niche.

So long as you are doing your best, then you are way ahead of the game with those who do nothing at all!

Experience comes with time, the more you write, the easier it gets. And the more you mingle in the community, the more you'll understand that there are many of us that do love to chit chat, comment, assist when able and cheer you on!
